Unfortunately, there is no option for 0 stars. This company is undoubtedly one of the most unscrupulous and dishonest establishments in Sarasota. Their goal is making money. They are rude and unprofessional. My beloved dog died at their incompetent hands. They had my dog in their care for two and half days treating her for a ridiculous condition costing thousands of dollars. She died of a completely unrelated condition and suffered inhumanely under their care. My regular veterinarian said that they are completely incompetent. They portray themselves as an "animal ER" but have no special capabilities as such. I continue to struggle with guilt for taking my dog there. She did not deserve to suffer and die as she did under the care of Animla ER. Stay away if you care about your pet.

First of all, I would give them 0 stars if the app allowed. I went to this place 10 years ago with a cat and found them to be rude, overpriced and poor veterinary care. My usual animal medical center was not seeing patients this morning due to a staffing issue and referred me to this place. Nothing has changed, the staff was extremely rude, especially the frumpy, middle-aged woman with the bad hair dye job and saggy jowls. We walked out and went to ****** ****** ****** on Manatee Ave where we received excellent care from everyone. If you love your pet, do not go to Animal ER of University Place.

They did a horrible job even trying to diagnosis my cat. The Assistant was polite but labeled my cat as uncooperative so they wanted to anesthetize him prior to the examination. The Vet was very direct about throwing money around to maybe find nothing. On the other hand, the billing person that came in the room was loud, rude & condescending. Her refusal to speak slower & let me ask questions was disturbing plus she insisted I apologize to her for interrupting to ask questions which she never did answer.

I arrived at 525am on Tuesday morning with my sick cat (UTI) and was told by the tech that they would not take me because they close at 7am. (????!!!!) No one in the reception area. I confirmed the doctor was available. She said it would take longer than that to do diagnostics and administer medicines and I would have to transfer to another hospital at 7am. I convinced her the cat had a UTI and to let me in. I completed the paperwork and waited. And waited. Meanwhile another client entered to pick up what sounded like their dog. The tech mentioned that if they needed help they would be around until 7am and that the non 24 hour schedule went into effect this summer. The tech raved about how much she liked the 24 hour schedule because it was easier for her. Maybe working at a vet is not for you Vet Tech.
