November of 2022 we entered into a contractor with Heritage on the Gulf to repair damage to our home from Hurricane ***. We signed 2 contractors and were required to put some money down to start work. For the first contract the total bill was going to be $25,000 for all the repairs. We put a deposit of $12,500 to start the work. this contract was for all work on the exterior of the house and included the pool cage, brick work, repairing a hole in the patio ceiling, mounting 2 fans and 2 TVs, soffit installation. The second contract was for $3000 and included interior work. We paid this contract in full. This work included repair of multiple holes and cracks in the ceiling from water damage and holes in the ceiling from mold mitigation. Damage was in the living room, kitchen, dining room and master bedroom. Additional repair work listed was for baseboards that were pulled up during mold mitigation. Replacement of any removed installation was also included. There was also ceiling repair in the garage. In total we gave him $15500 for all the work. To date the only remains completed are drywall on the ceiling on the patio and patch work on the interior. Nothing has been completed. We have sent a demand letter to the contractor for all work to be complete by 8/31 or we receive our full deposit back. The contractor failed to contact us prior to the cut off date or complete any additional work. He is now demanding more money and changing the contract saying it will cost more and he will not come out until we pay more. We don't trust this person any longer and do not wish to do business with him. We would just like our money back so we can hire someone else. We are also out additional funds to pay for the demand letter that he never honored. He has also left all his equipment on our property that had to be stored during Hurricane ******
