BAD communication! Company is swamped, you always get the answering machine, so after no call backs for a 2 days I emailed them and got a quick reply to set up an appt for a repair estimate when the guy was back in town. Appt got set up for 1-13-23. But the guy who actually came got there way earlier than the appt. time, with no warning (they had my cell #), and no note left that he had been there and done the inspection. Called the office multiple times that day while waiting, only got the answering machine, waited 4 hours for someone to show up or call back, then I gave up and went back to the home I'm staying at 17 miles away. Emailed them, got a reply that the inspection had been done, THEN they tell me it'll be up to 15 days to get the report, which I should've been told sooner so I knew. I NEEDED this done to make a followup appeal to FEMA, but 2 weeks was still well within the time frame. But I did complain about the terrible lack of communication. Never got a reply. Then I asked for a couple bits of info to be added to the top of the report for FEMA's use like they require, and asked for an apology/reply about the bad communication. The inspector emails and says, "I believe we have heard just about enough criticism and impatience from you. You're expecting a detailed estimate for repairs that you have no plans of executing. That's not what we do, especially for someone like you. Please find yourself another contractor." How professional. So no report. I had made ONE complaint about bad communication, and no other complaints past that, and I wasn't cussing or being nasty either. Due hurricane ***, lots of people needed FEMA's help and are making appeals on their decisions, which REQUIRE us to provide a contractor's estimate. Everyone is doing free estimates and should be used to not getting the gig by now, that's part of the biz. So don't complain to them about anything or you may end up with no estimate and wasting 3 weeks of your time.
