I had prepaid $75 for a massage at the Massage Envy, ************** location. My appointment was for a 60-min massage at 5:00pm on Feb 24, 2025. The therapist, ******, ended my session before it began and the manager, ********, refuses to credit my money or session time back. The details of the situation are that I arrived at 5:04 and was given forms to fill out, was placed in the tranquility room before ****** arrived and offered a trip to the restroom before my session. At no point did either the front desk nor ****** say that I was running behind schedule. Raquels tone and demeanor were gruff from the outset and once inside the therapy room she rudely and curtly told me that I was late and wouldnt receive a full massage. She offered to just do my shoulders or touch areas of my body. Confused and shocked I asked if I should just reschedule the appointment. ******, clearly aggitated, then flung open the door and told me to go to the front desk, muttering something at me as I left. I was stunned and simply did as she suggested since I certainly couldnt have had a peaceful massage after her rude behavior. The front desk took my complaint and apologized profusely. The next day, the manager ********, called to defend ****** and tell me that I would not get a refund because I canceled the massage when I walked out of the room. But it was ****** who suggested I leave. It feels like poor customer service mixed with a scam to keep my money.

I pay for a monthly Massage Envy membership that gives me one package to redeem for a service per month. If I do not redeem a service one month, then it rolls over into the next month. I called to book a microdermabrasian facial. While on the phone with the employee, she informed me that I had two packages available since the one from last month was not used and rolled over. I said "great! Then I would also like to book a second facial for my back to be done at the same time." She booked me for the two services. Today I went in for my one-hour back facial, followed by my one-hour microdermabrasian facial. When I went to check out at the front and leave a tip for the esthetician, the front desk staff informed me that I would owe an additional $77 for the back facial. I said that can't be correct, because I have two services in my membership. At that moment, the staff member and manager informed me that my microdermabrasion facial counts as two and requires two services to be used instead of one. I had never been told that before and nowhere in the store is that posted on any sign. They then handed me a pamphlet from inside the manager's desk stating the upcharges for services. I informed the manager that I felt lied to and misled when I booked my appointments. The staff member on the phone never informed me that the microdermabrasion facial would require two service packages to be used from my account. Had I known that, I would have never added on a second facial, causing me to pay significantly more out of pocket. The staff member and manager offered no apology or restitution. I said I would like to cancel my membership effective immediately. They gave me the cancellation form, which still requires me to pay for the membership for another two months. I would like to be refunded for the extra service charge that I never intended to use or spend totaling $77. I believe that is more than fair as a business to offer this small restitution for their mistake.

5.17.2023 I went for a face facial, before I went in, and even before I booked the session I inquired and asked the price, and both times I was told it be $100.00 total. Well on 5.18 after the session was over and proceeded to pay the fee was still $100.00 so I told them that I wanted to use a $25.00 gift card I had and use one of my seven (490.00) $70.00 credits I have on the system part of my membership which they withdraw from my bank account every month. At that point, they told me that if I wanted to use my credits to pay they have to use 2 of them, using 2 credits is a total of $140.00 as each credit is $70.00 then I told them that doesn't add up the charges as my service was only $100.00 they keep telling that if I wanted to use the credit to partially paid I had to use 2 ($140.00) I keep telling them that I only wanted to use one and the $25.00 gift card and pay $5.00 cash, I wasted over an hour trying to reason with them and telling them that what they wanted to do was basically robbed me of an extra $40.00, after over an hour not getting anywhere I told them not to charge me and I was going to be back the next day and speak with a manager which I did today 5.18 only to find out that they used 2 of my credits and charged me $140.00 I told them to put my credits back into my account and I was going to pay CASH the $100.00 which I did and they were found with that, at which point I told them I want to cancel my membership and want a full refund of all the credits a total of $490.00 they have withdrawn from my bank account as they're the ones that created the issue and also my balance with their balance doesn't match at all I'm missing I am also missing $210.00 which equals 3 credits I requested a print out of all my credits left in their system and all charges and they refused to give that the manager on duty told me that basically I have to trust what she is telling which is a problem because the day before I had 7 credits and tonight I had 5.

Our membership agreements explain that the monthly payments DO NOT equal to a dollar value. Each monthly payment is equal to a one hour customized service (advanced services include an upgrade charge). When using a combination of credits and any other form of payment, the credits will again NOT equal a dollar amount. They will cover a one hour service, OR the base service charge with a remaining upgrade charge. A chemical peel is an advanced service and therefore has an upgrade charge included. To pay for an advanced service there are three options: (1) a client may use two accrued credits to cover the advanced service (2) a client may use one accrued credit and pay the upgrade charge {currently $50} OR (3) a client may pay the discounted service price without using credits {currently $100}. This was explained to Carolina but there was a miscommunication. When we reached back out, we were able to reset the session and use the promo card and refund the one credit to her account like she wanted. Her agreement also explains that her accrued credits have no cash value and are not eligible for refund or a dollar amount in any way. I have pulled her transaction history and verified that her remaining credits match what she has pad versus what she has used. They will be emailed to her as well and we are always more than happy to go over these transactions if she desires.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Because that is not what is was explained to me when I originally signed up for this membership, also how are they going to say that my credits have no face value when is credit I have is due to $70.00 they have been withdrawing CASH straight from my bank account, which I asked them several time to cancel this and not to withdraw any more more money out of my account as I do not want to continue to do business with them, all I want at this point to get a full refund and for them to NOT take any more money from my bank account.

      Sincerely,

      ******** ******
