My company, Audio Advisors,is 42 years old today! But even after 42 years of running this business, I will never understand the thought process of some of our customers. ************** is correct, he purchased a new radio along with other gear in July of 2022 for $1,322.45 including sales tax. That radio came with a 12-month parts and labor warranty from Pioneer, the manufacturer of the radio.  So, that purchase made over 24 months ago is now over 12 months out of any warranty.  *********************, one of our sales team and a competent technician who has been with me for almost 14 years, went out to **************** car and tried to reset his radio.  Unfortunately, the reset did not fix **************** issue. Since the radio clearly had power as it was lighting up showing lines across the screen, there was nothing left for ***** to suggest except replacing the radio since repairing it is not cost effective.Between the labor for removal and reinstallation, out of warranty repair charges and freight both ways to Pioneers repair facility in ********, it is simply more cost efficient to purchase a new radio (approximately $22.65 including labor and tax). Since the gear and labor were over a year out of warranty, the only other option we had was to pull **************** car in our bays, remove his radio and put it on our test bench but that would have cost him $125 since his parts and labor warranty ran out over 12 months ago. Since **************** radio was clearly defective, ***** felt and I agree that he was much better served by investing the $125 into installing a new radio rather than wasting it on shop labor that would bring him no benefit. We are sorry that **************** radio broke out of warranty. We certainly wish his radio did not break 13 months after the warranty ran out. We do not know what else ************* expected us to do. He did not make a request of us that we turned down.***** did what he/we thought was in **************** best interest and he did so in a pleasant and professional manner. We did our best handling **************** unlucky and disappointing situation but obviously that was not enough, for that we apologize.

Sorry I made a typo in my original response...

"Between the labor for removal and reinstallation, out of warranty repair charges and freight both ways to Pioneers repair facility in ********, it is simply more cost efficient to purchase a new radio (approximately $22.65 including labor and tax)."

The correct number for replacement is $422.65 not $22.65. Sorry for my error, ****

************** states "they sold be a defective radio and dont want to own up to it". Once again his radio broke 13 MONTHS AFTER HIS 12 MONTH ******** RAN OUT. I'm not sure what ************** expects but we are not going to install a new radio that was 13 months out of warranty for free. Our offer to install a new radio with similar features for $422.65 including parts, labor, sales tax and a new 12-month parts and labor warranty (not 25 months only 12) is an offer we believe is better than ************** will receive anywhere else and the best offer we are willing to make whether he accepts it or not. *********************, President
