      I pay for water and trash collection on a regular basis. The garbage man has NOT picked up my trash for 3 straight times now. They are supposed to pick up anything that fits in the container as long as it is not hazardous. The last time they left the trash container open and it rained and filled with water. There are maggots in the trash. Today the man said he could't take it because there were some "logs" in there. I do have some tree cuttings that are small and fit in the container. But with the crane they use to lift the container it does nothing to them. I have seen them pick up trash so full that the lid is completely open. The man stressed me out - I told him I was going to find a complaint then he came knocking on my door, got in my face telling me to call his boss so he could explain why they are not collecting the trash, and agitated me some more. I have had and continue to have issues with the water and trash. This is because they are the ONLY one to service the county - they have a MONOPOLY and so do as they please!!!

      I attempted to reach ****************** and left a message with my contact information regarding her complaint. In the message, I informed ****************** that household garbage and yard waste is to be kept separate when placed to the curb for collection. Yard waste refers to debris from routine residential yard maintenance only. Debris from land clearing or tree removal is not eligible to be collected at the curb. Branches are to be cut into pieces that are no more than six feet long, six inches in diameter and weigh no more than fifty pounds each. Placing a "log" in her household garbage cart would result in the garbage hauler not collecting the cart. A copy of the residential curbside collection guidelines will be mailed to ****************** for any questions she may have moving forward. These guidelines can also be found on our website: www.swa.org.
