I called **************************************, ** to book a reservation over the phone. Gave them my information for credit cards on 2-8-25. When I called back to confirm the date, they had no recollection of the booking and said I booked through third party and gave me this phone number ************. This number is out of service. So I googled hotel planner and called. They found my reservation and are not going to charge me 30% of what the reservation costs. When I initially called, they said it was 100% refundable up to 3 days prior to my event (which its still 2 months out). Somehow this company has tapped into the hotel phone or something to scam people. Requesting a FULL refund as discussed over the phone. Also, I initially booked 4 rooms with 2 beds each. When I called to check on the reservation they only had 2 rooms booked. One suite with 2 beds and one room with a queen. That is NOT what I booked over the phone. Again, the email states 30% charge, but when booking I never received an email and the *** told me it was 100% refundable until July 16. But then I receive an email trying to cancel the reservation by an email different from what they gave me over the phone. Things just are not adding up.

I am rejecting this response because:
Im not sure why you only refunded $291.12. Clearly in the photo attached, you have charged not just the $29.99 that has been refunded, but also $415.89. So we need the full refund back, not half.

      Greetings *******,

I'd love to help clarify! After taking a deeper look into your reservations, I see that reservation #H10396084 was booked as a pay-at-hotel reservation, meaning that we did not charge your card since the hotel took care of charging your card. Therefore, since the charge to your card came through the hotel, any refunds will need to come directly through them as well. For easier communication, I will provide the hotel's phone number: **************. I am rejecting this response because:
The hotel has no recollection of a reservation. This company tapped the hotels phone line booking my reservation with them. The hotel never charged the credit card. This company did in the amounts of $415.89 and $29.99. I already sent proof from the bank attached to the original claim verifying this. The description states purchase lodge *********** which is not the actual hotel description. This has also been verified by the hotel. So, hotel ***********, we just need the rest of our refund. We provided proof, so quit with the scam.

Please, all I ask is that you refund me the rest of my money which is $124.77. A police report is going to be filed within the next 10 days if you cant fix this issue.

Our hotel dates were April 10 through April 17. I book the reservation through a third party. The carpeting in the doorway of our room was shredded, the room was musty smelling and dirty. We arrived late so we had to stay the night, total cost was $1004.77. The next day i ask to be transferred to another Super 8, they would not accommodate so I checked out before 11:00 am on the 11th and went to a Super 8 hotel in ******************* and paid for that stay too. I have contacted two people and was told I would receive an email but have not heard from anyone as of today. Our hotel itinerary number is *********. To make matters worse, when I called the local number to be see if they would transfer us to another Super 8, ******* told me she did not need to hear any more complaints from me.

This guest had paid, $495.92 not $1004.77, Front desk agent had provided me with the information of this customer stating when she checked in guest came off as being super racist. Her attitude wasn't right even before she checked in. Despise the racial profiling towards my front desk agent she kindly asked she will be shifted in a different room where there was no issue. The reservation is non cancelable and non refundable no matter what the scenario. Because it's done through third party we can not refund, if we were to refund it would directly go back to the third party virtual credit card not the guest card. But again she wasn't in the mood to even understand the situation because she was too busy racially profiling my employee, this guest was looking for nothing but trouble as soon as she walked to check in. This is most defiantly a case of fraud so she can get the money back even though its a non refundable reservation. She did agree upon these terms and condition while she was booking the reservation so everything was done within legal rights

I used hotel planner to book a resort in ******: upon booking which I have screenshots with time stamp from my photos that I booked 2 adults, 2 children from June 8th-11th. After booking the reservation it emailed me showing 2 adults only. I called and the company refused to help me. They wanted me to pay $4800 to add my kids or cancel for $900. I have a screenshot with the time showing my price for 2 kids and 2 adults in those dates. They hung up on me never returned my calls. 2 employees told me it would not be penalized as I had proof with the time stamp. They cancelled my reservation without my approval and added I would have to pay the cancellation fee. This is wrong and it was set up that way for them to make money off of me. They refused to escalate it or resolve. I feel scammed and now I have nowhere to stay because they cancelled me without consent and now want to charge me $900 for it. Look at the photo I screenshotted this was the screenshot I took right before booking. issue and wanted money out of me. This is unethical and wrong.

I was not able to type my response in to the rejection. I want it stated here also that I will be fully refunded without penalty. You can add that and the voucher and I will accept. I had to find a hotel last minute and tell my kids they were not able to go to the hotel I had been saving for and they had been looking forward to. Again, this was not a mistake on my end and never authorized to cancel. This put my family in an extremely stressful situation.

IMMEDIATE FULL REFUND DEMAND: FALSE ADVERTISING-FRAUDULENT BAIT-AND-SWITCH, DECEPTIVE PRACTICES, AND UNAUTHORIZED CANCELLATIONS BY LEXYL TRAVEL TECHNOLOGIES DBA HOTELPLANNER -- FAILURE TO RESOLVE WILL BE ESCALATED

      Dear ****************************** *********************************************, and Aqua **** ********************** Management,

Let me be unequivocally clear: your collective actions constitute a deliberate, sophisticated, and illegal bait-and-switch scheme, rampant deceptive trade practices, and blatant breach of contract, in flagrant violation of ******* and Federal consumer protection laws. This systematic deception has caused immense financial hardship, emotional distress, and has ruined a planned family vacation in which all three companies refuse to resolve and mislead me to think you are doing something and misleading consumers.
As I have exhaustively documented with timestamped screenshots, your system, specifically that provided by Lexyl Travel Technologies and API software, intentionally altered my original bookings (2 adults, 2 children) not once, but twice. You systematically removed the children from the reservation and then astronomically inflated the price to an unfeasible amount (e.g., $4,000 for three days). These initial offers were meticulously chosen by me because they were genuinely great deals, and I have evidence of my Browse history, communications, and photos to prove the original terms. I did not choose the refundable option, a detail that further exposes your scam your system is designed to trap consumers into an inescapable financial burden once they commit.
Your companies, through a web of shell entities and deliberately convoluted processes, have engaged in a pattern of behavior designed to exhaust and defraud consumers:
Intentional System Manipulation: The core of  which resembles that of false advertising and lies in the booking software and changes made were made on two separate occasions. I experienced identical, unauthorized reservation changes on two separate occasions, a statistical impossibility for genuine "mistakes." This points to an intentionally designed system to manipulate bookings post-purchase, forcing consumers into higher rates or losing their money and no parties involved resolving the issues and have made comments that do not match up to that of your own terms and conditions given as I was promised calls and to be contacted to resolve directly from one of these entities to resolve which never happened.
Unauthorized Cancellations and Fraudulent Fees: Despite my consistent demands for resolution, HotelPlanner unilaterally cancelled my reservations without my consent or authorization, then attempted to charge me exorbitant cancellation fees. I never agreed to these cancellations. This is a clear breach of contract. The recent attempt to issue a $400 payment, which does not constitute a full refund and is outside the scope of my ongoing Affirm and Better Business Bureau disputes, is a transparent maneuver to falsely claim "resolution" and further pressure me into accepting your fraudulent terms. You have changed your tems as the cancellation fees have changed which is predatory and unlawful.
The "Free Voucher" Scam: Your "complimentary free voucher" is nothing more than another layer of this elaborate scheme. Offered with impossible same-day/next-day deadlines, these vouchers are designed to prolong confusion and delay, only to replicate the original problem as proven when the voucher issued by Lexyl Travel Technologies resulted in an even worse deal (higher price for fewer days), trapping me into another potential cancellation fee for the very issue you claim to be "resolving."
Shell Company Blame Game & Unresolvable Circles: Lexyl Travel Technologies' terms of use explicitly state they are "not responsible for criminal conduct by third parties" and disclaim liability. Yet, Lexyl Travel Technologies owns and operates HotelPlanner.com and provides the very software that initiates these fraudulent changes that have happened numerous times and from both companies. You create an intentionally confusing labyrinth where HotelPlanner blames *********, and both companies establish terms and communication barriers to evade responsibility. I have spent countless hours on the phone, been hung up on, promised managerial callbacks from the the booking company which when asked for a number, entity information and promised numerous contacts by phone that never materialized, and been directed to "the booking company" (another shell entity of Lexyl Travel Technologies or API per your terms and conditions on your website) that is impossible to reach. HotelPlanner has consistently failed to disclose the name of this "booking company," despite my repeated requests. They deliberately made it complicated, never mentioning a company that they explicitly protect in their own terms. This withholding of information is a deliberate misrepresentation and part of the deceptive scheme. You lead consumers in circles, never allowing them to speak with the entity that has the supposed "final say," only to have HotelPlanner later respond with decisions that are clearly to your benefit, not mine. This circular blame game is a deliberate tactic to ensure consumers become exhausted and give up.
Aqua ****'s Complicity/Denial of Responsibility: While Aqua **** ********************** is presented by HotelPlanner as the "main point of contact" for resolution and the supposed recipient of cancellation fees, they have "uncorking numbers" and are unreachable. When I physically went to Aqua ****, crying from the stress, their empathetic employees confirmed they are aware of booking companies like yours scamming people this way, but stated they couldn't help directly, directing me back to HotelPlanner. This further proves the coordinated effort to create an irresolvable situation. HotelPlanner's claim that Aqua **** is "unwilling to assist with my refund" is a lie designed to shift blame and did not match up to that of them in person. I have numerous witnesses and photos and they have cameras, receipts and conversations to prove this.
This pattern of deception is not a "mistake"; it is a systemic strategy. Employee reviews on Indeed, pending lawsuits, and numerous class-action complaints against both HotelPlanner and Lexyl Travel Technologies corroborate a long history of these exact deceptive practices. It is no coincidence that this happened to me twice, with companies that explicitly protect each other from liability for the very schemes they are perpetrating. The fact that I was never allowed to speak with this "booking company," despite it supposedly having the final say, is further evidence of misrepresentation and fraud. HotelPlanner, which is owned by Lexyl Travel Technologies, consistently used this "other department" or "website department" as an excuse for delays and lack of resolution, yet I never received a single call from them. This is a calculated tactic to obfuscate the true nature of your interconnected operations and evade responsibility.

Legal Violations and Demand for Accountability
Your actions constitute grave violations and laws
The Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA) (Florida Statute Section ******* et seq.):This includes bait-and-switch tactics, fraudulent misrepresentation (making false statements, verbally or in writing, with intent to mislead), unauthorized cancellations, and refusal to provide refunds for services not rendered as agreed upon. Your verbal statements and reassurances that I would receive calls from the "other department" or "booking company," which never materialized, constitute misrepresentation intended to mislead me into inaction and prolong something that resembles that of a scam, regardless of what your hidden terms state.
The ************************ Act (15 U.S.C. 45, Section 5): This federal law prohibits "unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce." Your misleading advertisements, material omissions (like hiding the identity of the "booking company"), and overall fraudulent scheme are designed to deceive consumers, causing substantial injury that cannot be reasonably avoided. This also applies to oral as well as written statements.
Breach of Contract: Your unauthorized cancellations and failure to provide the services as agreed upon in the original booking constitute a clear breach of our contract. Under Florida law, even if a contract is written, verbal agreements or modifications can be legally binding if they demonstrate mutual assent and clear terms, especially when acted upon. Your repeated assurances of resolution and calls from the "other department" that never occurred constitute a breach of your implied duty to act in good faith and misled me regarding the status and potential resolution of my booking.
Fraud: Your deliberate withholding of the "booking company's" name and contact information, coupled with your misrepresentation of their role in resolving the issue, constitutes fraud. You have knowingly misrepresented the nature of your interconnected operations to deceive consumers.
I reiterate my absolute demand for a full refund for all funds paid towards my reservations, without any deduction for cancellation fees you falsely attribute to Aqua **** or attempts to substitute with worthless vouchers. I have a robust track record of all communications, timestamps, screenshots, and witness accounts to prove every aspect of this fraudulent scheme.

      Consequences of Non-Compliance
This email serves as your final notice. I have already initiated disputes with Affirm and the Better Business Bureau. Furthermore, this communication is being formally carbon copied to the consumer protection agencies I am actively working with:
Florida Attorney General - Consumer Protection Division
      ************************ (***)
To ensure direct accountability, I have also obtained and included the contact information of HotelPlanner, Lexyl Travel Technologies, and Aqua **** Playa Del Carmen (If a full and complete refund is not processed and confirmed within ten (10) calendar days in the full amount of the booking including all fees that your company tried to add to this amount and fees from the date of this email (June 20, 2025), I will immediately proceed with:
Mailing a formal demand letter to each of the aforementioned companies and individuals.
Initiating comprehensive legal action, including a lawsuit for the full amount scammed, damages for financial hardship, emotional trauma, and stress caused to me and my family. This includes the immense stress that led to many issues at work and my mental health during this time and the need to work two consecutive 65-hour weeks to mitigate the financial burden imposed by your scam.
Demanding all phone conversations, video recordings and internal communications from HotelPlanner, Aqua **** **********************, and Lexyl Travel Technologies as evidence of your concerted efforts to defraud.
Your deliberate design of shell companies and legal disclaimers to escape accountability for intentional consumer fraud which is predatory and will not stand. Despite your hidden terms and agreements, ******* and Federal laws governs this transaction (as stated in your own terms), and your actions are in clear violation of consumer protection laws. This is not a "mistake"; it is a calculated scheme that has left my family in financial strain and without the vacation we meticulously saved for. I will ensure that the above mentioned practices are brought to the fullest attention of the law to prevent other hardworking families from falling victim to your predatory business model. Since your company is a stock company and the owner. Your terms and conditions are unlawful and used to commit crimes. It is unlawful to use a shell company and set up terms and conditions to defraud customers out of their money. by stating that Lexyl Travel Technologies cannot be contacted yet this is the owner of Hotel Planner and per the terms and conditions the Seller for Hotel Planner. You have changed/altered my reservations twice to defraud me and cancelled two of my reservations without my consent. I have also seen you alter your cancellation fees throughout this process as well to further defraud me for the entire amount of the hotel and added fees on top of that. This happened by the same company as ************* which is doing business as Lexyl Travel Technologies which share the same address and operate together under *******. There is no contact to resolve this at HotelPlanner because the contact is Lexyl Travel Technologies. I have went ahead and added the CEOs of your companies to this email as well.

      Complaint: 23413981

I am rejecting this response because:

IMMEDIATE FULL REFUND DEMAND: FRAUDULENT BAIT-AND-SWITCH, DECEPTIVE PRACTICES, AND UNAUTHORIZED CANCELLATIONS BY HOTELPLANNER & LEXYL TRAVEL TECHNOLOGIES - Reservation [Your Reservation Number(s)] - FAILURE TO RESOLVE WILL RESULT IN SWIFT AND COMPREHENSIVE LEGAL ACTION
      Dear ****************************** *********************************************, and ******************************** Management,
Let me be unequivocally clear: your collective actions constitute a deliberate, sophisticated, and illegal bait-and-switch scheme, rampant deceptive trade practices, and blatant breach of contract, in flagrant violation of ******* and Federal consumer protection laws. This systematic deception has caused immense financial hardship, emotional distress, and has ruined a planned family vacation.
As I have exhaustively documented with timestamped screenshots, your system, specifically that provided by Lexyl Travel Technologies, intentionally altered my original bookings (2 adults, 2 children) not once, but twice.
Intentional System Manipulation: The core of this scam lies in the booking software. I experienced identical, unauthorized reservation changes on two separate occasions, a statistical impossibility for genuine "mistakes." This points to an intentionally designed system to manipulate bookings post-purchase, forcing consumers into higher rates or losing their money.
Yet, Lexyl Travel Technologies owns and operates HotelPlanner.com and provides the very software that initiates these fraudulent changes. You create an intentionally confusing labyrinth where HotelPlanner blames *********, and both companies establish terms and communication barriers to evade responsibility. I have spent countless hours on the phone, been hung up on, promised managerial callbacks that never materialized, and been directed to "the booking company" (another shell entity of Lexyl Travel Technologies) that is impossible to reach.
Aqua ****** Complicity/Denial of Responsibility: While ******************************** is presented by HotelPlanner as the "main point of contact" for resolution and the supposed recipient of cancellation fees, they have "uncorking numbers" and are unreachable. When I physically went to Aqua ****, crying from the stress, their empathetic employees confirmed they are aware of booking companies like yours scamming people this way, but stated they couldn't help directly, directing me back to HotelPlanner. This further proves the coordinated effort to create an unresolvable situation. HotelPlanner's claim that Aqua **** is "unwilling to assist" is a lie designed to shift blame.

Your actions constitute grave violations of:
The Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA) (Florida Statute Section ******* et seq.):This includes bait-and-switch tactics, fraudulent misrepresentation (making false statements, verbally or in writing, with intent to mislead), unauthorized cancellations, and refusal to provide refunds for services not rendered as agreed upon. Your verbal statements and reassurances that I would receive calls from the "other department" or "booking company," which never materialized, constitute misrepresentation intended to mislead me into inaction and prolong the scam, regardless of what your hidden terms state.

On May 18, 2025, my fiance mistakenly booked a room for me at the Holiday Inn in ********* ** with Itinerary # ********** The only confirming email I received was from Refund Protection, which made it look like the charge for the reservation was $******. However, my credit card was actually charged $******.

We quickly realized his mistake and I immediately called Hotelplanner and spoke with Abigail. While I waited on the line, she called the Holiday Inn and canceled the reservation and confirmed for me it was canceled and further told me there was no reason I would not receive a full refund. Then, Alvin S. sent me an email saying "Hotel Approved Full Refund Verbally" and my refund was being processed but it would take 10 business days. On May 28, 2025, I received two installments toward my refund, one for $52.12 and the other for $159.18. However, I am still owed the remainder, which is $******.

This is a fraudulent scheme to defraud unsuspecting consumers. My fiance thought he was booking directly with Holiday Inn, but turns out it was through Hotelplanner; however, I never got confirmation of my reservation from Hotelplanner, I only received an email from its affiliate, Refund Protection. There is no transparency with whom you are doing business, and Hotelplanner uses this obscurity to its advantage. I was only able to get information about Hotelplanner from Abigail; otherwise, I would have never known with whom I was actually transacting business.

I am rejecting this response because: they have repeatedly been telling me they are working on this but I have no point of contact at this company; people I speak to give me false names and no last names and each time I have called, it has been me having to restate the facts.  They have not once sent me a message stating they will issue a refund or been able to explain the charges I have incurred. The agents I talk to also keep telling me to expect phone calls or emails but I have yet to receive any communication from this company. I feel scammed.

For there to be a proper resolution, I need to be provided an explanation of the charges and a date I can expect to receive the refund I was promised during a call on May 30th.  It also would be helpful to have a phone number that is directly to the person handling this matter and not agents who have no knowledge of this case.

On 6/1/25 I made a reservation through Hotelplanner.com for 1 night August 16, 2025 at ********** by ******************************* for 1 *********. Within 4 hours it was determined that I should have booked 1 night room with 2 Queen **** instead. I called and was told that I could not change the reservation, but I could cancel and rebook. I was told they would contact the hotel and request a refund on the original reservation. I booked the new reservation. Today I contacted Doubletree by ******************************* and was advised they had not been contacted about a refund. Checking my "junk" email folder I found an email from Hotelplanner.com with a voucher that MUST be used on their site only and by Sept 29 2025. THIS IS NOT A REFUND- It is junk! I was told a refund would be requested and they DID NOT contact ********** to request a refund. I want a refund immediately.

I was on the hotel website. An option appeared in my dates search result on the page that said todays lowest rate. I clicked on the todays lowest rate option, thinking this was a deal being offered by the hotel. I declined the refund insurance because the hotel allowed free cancellations: when I went to my email to forward the reservation details, nothing arrived from the Best Western. Instead I got the attached instructions on how much refund coverage I had received. This seems like a classic bait and switch scam, where I thought I was buying one thing, but I was scammed into buying something else without realizing it. I would like a refund of the full amount I paid so that I can book directly with the hotel for accommodations for my disabled child and the freedom to adjust the reservation if necessary.

I purchased a hotel reservation with hotel *********** for July 25th to July 29th at the ******************** a destination by ************ When I checked the price it said it was 76% off and the total for 4 nights was $238.98 CAD. Once I completed the reservation and received my confirmation email I was charged $751.95 CAD. I was charged $513 CAD more than the reservation. I have photo and video evidence proving the price. I called hotel planner May 22, they said they would get back to be after escalating writhing ***** business hours, however I called today and they have no answer for me. I cant even cancel the reservation to get my money back. They have overcharged me by $500 and wont even refund me for the error. I have pictures and videos proving my price. I have sent them all the information. I cannot seem to attach it here as it is over 5MB. If there is another way to send the documents please let me know.

We called what we thought was Laqunita to book a hotel reservation. The phone was answered ******** reservations. We requested to book a room for Sunday the 25th and Monday the 26th. We told them we had 2 adults, 3 dogs, and requested a military discount as my finance is a decorated combat veteran that served 2 tours in ***********. We were quoted $157 total. We asked for verification 3 times that was the price for 2 nights for 2 adults, 2 dogs and the military discount. 3 times the lady taking the reservation confirmed it was for 2 nights, 2 adults, and 2 dogs. When we checked in we were charged the $157 and a $50 charge. We thought the $50 charge was the dog fee and that a mistake was made in the quote. We didnt think much of that as it seemed a fair price for the dogs. We were out at a family event and my fiancee was remembering his brothers in arms that did not return home from their tours for Memorial Day. We left the even around 4ish to go and walk our dogs. We stayed at the hotel for about 30 minutes after walking them and then returned to the event. At 8:30pm I received a call from ********************** informing me they had custody of my dogs since I had checked out of my room and left them. I had not checked out, my dogs and all out stuff was in our room as we had booked for 2 nights and should not be checking out until the morning. We rushed out of our event and were able to meet animal control to get our dogs back safely. When I spoke with the people at the hotel they showed me the paperwork they had saying we booked for one night only. Our stuff was thrown into trash bags and shampoo and conditioner covered all our belongings. ******* then added another $50 charge to my account that I am not sure what is for and will be talking to them after I send this. So currently I have been charged $257 for one night at a hotel and my dogs were turned over to animal control because this company messed up our reservations. My fiances PTSD is activated from this
