      I rented a storage unit from Value Store It in July of 2022 thru Jan 31,2024. I stored furniture , clothes, pictures, kitchen dishes, pots, glasses, etc. Televisions, stereo, bedding and bathroom accessories. Upon moving out , the furniture blankets around my furniture were chewed up , boxes chewed up, rodent f**** and urine all over items and in the boxes . Upon unpacking found dead mice in boxes .I complained to the manager and asst **** Manager name is ***** and Asst *** name is ***** . ***** apologized and said the problem with the rodents was there before he became manager. The asst ********** told me to go to the website and will out the form to be contacted by the District Manager. She also advised he would be coming in to the store tomorrow and she would have him call me. I have completed the form on their website two times and left messages with ***** to have him call me . It's been 1 1/2 weeks and haven't received a call from the District Manager. They advertise on their website about the cleanliness of their units . I don't consider mice and rat infestation as a clean unit . These rodents carry many diseases and I have had to thrown out a lot of my property due to the damage of the rodents infestation. I am compiling a list of my losses and have photographs to document the infestation. I have the items secured in my garage and have to open a box at a time and go thru everything before it is brought into my house. I had packed everything carefully with moving paper and bubble wrap and nothing was broken or damaged moving the items to the storage or from the storage . However everything is infested with rodent fences, urine , chewed up paper and dead rodents . I am just asking to have these items which had to be thrown out replaced . I placed my values with this company based on their advertising on the internet and their website .       Value Store It has been proudly serving the self storage needs of South ******* for twenty years. In that time, we have steadfastly acted in strict accordance with the highest operational standards within the self-storage industry, and we take great pride in the reputation of our facilities as being among the cleanest and best run in the industry, as well as that of our associates as meeting the highest standards of customer service and professionalism.  In fact, Value Store It has been ranked among the Top 100 Self-Storage Operators in the country for more than 11 years now.

      Value Store It ***************, LLC did indeed enter into a storage agreement with **************** in 2022. At that time, in accordance with the terms of his lease and all applicable laws, **************** was advised that Value Store It requires tenants to ensure their possessions are protected against losses, either through our Value Protection Plan or their own insurance coverage.  **************** elected to insure his own goods,and certified in the lease that his possessions were in fact covered under an in-place property insurance policy.

      As indicated by ****************, there was claimed rodent damage to Mr. ******* possessions.  At that time, **************** apparently filed a claim with his insurance carrier, who denied the claim (with no involvement by Value Store It).  **************** then contacted the facility office, where he was advised that he had elected not to purchase additional coverage from Value Store It.  At that time, **************** asked to speak with a District Manager.  *****************************, Value Store It District Manager for Palm Beach County, then contacted **************** by telephone.  While explaining that **************** had elected to be covered by his own insurance, rather than through a protection plan, *************** still asked **************** to send over photos of the claimed damages, as well as information regarding value of Mr. ******* possessions.  **************** also asked **************** to meet at the facility to discuss Mr. ******* claim. To date, Value Store It has not heard back from ****************.

      With regard to ****************** claim of an infestation at the *************** Facility, we would reiterate our sterling reputation for operating clean and efficient facilities to the highest standards. In fact, after the *************** ***************** came to the facility for an unscheduled inspection (in response to a complaint **************** filed with the Department),the inspector gave the facility ********* and immediately closed out the complaint.

      In short, not only did Value Store It perform throughout this whole ordeal in strict conformity with the tenants lease and applicable ******* law, but as shown above, our staff even went above and beyond what was required so as to attempt to support the client.  However, in the end we are unable to assist the Client in negotiating coverage between him and his unaffiliated insurance company.  As such, the client cannot show how at any time Value Store It acted in any way less than the standards of the Better Business Bureau would require. 

      As such, we would request that this complaint be removed from our file.  Thank you.

      The Vice President of Value Storage has called me and offered me a generous settlement and therefore I will be dropping the complainant.
