    Taunton gave us, the ********, an estimate on the deck during our inspection when purchasing the property at *** * 10th and due to his reputation and recommendation we decided to move forward with him. He advised the job would take 1 week and he would do ALL upper decks (and start when we took ownership of the home in early May). We were under tight timelines as we had vacation rentals beginning in early June.

    Toward the end of this ordeal we got to the point we just needed him to finish the project so that we could have the property ready for rental and did whatever necessary just to get Tauton to SHOW UP.

    Angie was present for part of the time Tauton worked on the deck, but had to return to CO before he completed and was unaware of the incredibly poor quality of work and then he simply didn't finish many of the items we discussed/were part of the project. It wasn't until we returned to SGI in Sept. that we became aware of:
    1) the incompletion of agreed upon work
    a) we had already paid him to complete the back siding of the house which was never completed
    b) the side deck/screened in portion of the upper deck that was never completed (we were aware of this before Sept and due to desperation to get the job complete, settled for it not getting done) and the addition to the rail on the screened in deck to increase the height of the railings
    c) not painting the trim on the side of the outside of the house
    d) not putting trim underneath the front doors after placing plastic flashing
    e) not putting metal flashing between tthe house and deck on the portion of the deck that it missing from as verbally discussed
    f) not completing the railings/landings
    g) The edge of the deck low rail was put directly against the deck (making it impossible to sweep or hose the deck off easily.

    2) the poor quality/unsafe conditions
    a) the planks running two different directions on the front deck
    b) the distance between supports under the decking
    c) the dangerously loose rails
