Received a verbal quote after dropping my car off. Was told brake calipers, pads and rotors needed replaced. Given a quote of $1294, charged $2532!Business Response

Yes the quote for the brakes was that plus tax, but she also had four tires mounted and balanced included in that ticket which is what brought the ticket I believe that is where the confusion is on her ticketInitial Complaint

I am rejecting this response because: Tuffy's Located at ************************************************* - HORRIBLE!!!!! RUN!!!! BEWARE!!!! DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! RUN!! DISHONEST!!! SCAMMERS!! THEY WILL RUIN YOUR CAR!!! THIS SHOP PERFORMS AUTO REPAIR FRAUD!!!! ******** and rude shop manager ** should be fired. Extremely rude. On 4.29.24 I brought my vehicle here for a simple job, not only was the work that I paid for not performed properly the incompetence and inexperience technicians damaged my vehicles Transmission. Technicians did not follow the manufacturer specifications for the vehicle. WRONG FLUID, WRONG PARTS, COMPLETE NEGLIGENCE. The shop did not have the appropriate equipment and tools to perform the job properly and did not perform the services I paid for and kept my money. Mavis response was a rude and disgusting shop manager and district manager ******. They they have sketchy FRAUDULENT business practices AND DO NOT PERFORM THE WORK YOU PAY FOR. TECHNICIANS DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND WILL RUIN YOUR CAR. Shop tried to lied about performing work, and tried to release the car to me with my children in the vehicle, and almost crashed and stalled out instantly after paying for service. Mavis district manager has been disgusting and rude and has not refunded my money and has done absolutely nothing to rectify the issue. If I could give Negative or zero stars, I would. If you want your car serviced by clowns and unprofessionals this is the circus. If you want your car broken and to pay for service that isn't performed AUTO SERVICE FRAUD and perform improperly this is the place. Mavis corporation better get in contact with me directly lawsuit coming your way. Disgusting Business overall. Will be reporting to the BBB and FDACS. The worst part about this entire experience is these people have not refunding my money, nor have they treated me and my family with respect and dignity, and I will be seeing them in court until I am refunded and made whole for their negligence and damage. On 02/19/2024 I took my vehicle in to be serviced for an engine leakage. Tuffy charged me for Spark Plugs while my vehicle already had brand new Spark plugs already.My charge explanation: ******* leak needs valve cover ************** plugs -$773.64 After bringing my vehicle home, I realized that my vehicle was still leaking. When I returned to shop the mechanic said they'd give me a discount for repairing the leaking that's in a different area. He them said the work is too large for them to complete & couldn't perform it there. He said that they could check cameras to see what I was told the first time I came in for service. Before I got the Audi Q7 dropped off at the shop I explained that its running hot and to do a full inspection on the whole vehicle it was stated that the inspection was not done 11/8/2023 I picked up my vehicle that night and drove it towards Just ****************** and the same issue happened I brought it back I brought it back the next day and they stated that it was now another issue they retrieved my vehicle 11/292023 And werent finished until 1/24/2024 I picked it up 1/31/2024 around 4:35pm 2/7/2024 as I am driving up I-4 east towards exit 25 the vehicle flashed turn off engine and the temperature gauge went to H(hot)Initial Complaint

I had my car towed to Tuffy ‘s for repairs. It was not running. They called me a few days later and give me a quote for $154.00 for a fuse for the car and they called me on Friday to say it was repaired when I went to pick it up it was $5400 I told him I cannot afford that. I did not sign approval for that inverter that they installed did not sign. Any paperwork did not get any quotes written, quotes, so when I asked him to pull out the voice recording app that I agreed upon for them to repair it for that price the owner called me and told me I could finance it but the finance companies at 100% and I cannot for that for me. This is my sons car that’s for functioning autistic I told him I needed a few months to bring up with the money and they told me if I don’t come up with money within 60 days, more charges were incur and after 90 days I will abandon the car and they will keep the vehicle. I don’t know what to do. If you’d like they’re still in my car, please help. I asked them to take the part out and return my car. They refused.Business Response

We have been in communication with both husband and wife. Husband brought the car in and somewhere along the way there was a lack of understanding on the price for the repair on the vehicle. There was a verbal agreement over the phone with one of our employees to move forward with the repairs. It is not uncommon for us to call our customers for approval before repairing their vehicle if they're not physically in the shop at the time. We have explained to the customers that we are unable to just remove the parts and take the cost off from the vehicle. The dealership that the parts came from will not take them back as they are considered used parts so there is no refund for any money that has been put out. What we have done is discounted their invoice and offered the customers different finance options and they declined all options that we have available. Finally the wife agreed to making weekly payments directly to us. We in no way want to keep the vehicle from the customer but when we are verbally told to go ahead and move forward with fixing the vehicle then the customer has buyers remorse, who's responsibility is it at that point? If they would have told us to go ahead with the repairs and we didn't repair the vehicle they would have been equally upset.Initial Complaint

On May 17th,2022 I took my car to Tuffy Tire and Auto due to my 2014 Chevy Camaro Convertible A/C shutting off in the car due to the engine being too hot whenever the car is sitting idle. I ask JT to go through the car thoroughly and tell me whats wrong with the car.JT at Tuffy ran a diagnostic on the car $139.75 and advised that I needed to remove and replace the air conditioning Condenser $269.10 and Evacuate and Recharge R134A A/C system $158.39 plus Labor $518.10 and parts $272.89. However he said he could figure out where the water was coming from in my car as the passenger floor was soiled. So the a/c was working ..
On September 6th,2022 while out working my A/C began to blow hot air. I called Tuffy to advise them of this. I was told to bring my car into the Tuffy shop so, I did. JT has a mechanic to look over my car then tells me you need a whole new A/C unit. I responded , How is that you all just worked on my A/c back in May. Tuffy advised me that i would have to spend another $1000 to get my car repaired. JT words were we had no way of knowing that the A/c was going out. Which I thought was weird. I advised JT that I did not feel comfortable paying out additional money as this was the reason I came back in May, was to get the A/c completely fixed and he and his team reassured me I was good to go. I decided to get a second so I picked my car up and made an appointment at the********** dealership in Winter haven. The mechanic at********** advised that my air conditioning Condenser is not pumping . This is one of the things that Tuffy was supposed to repair back in May. That I am having to pay out of pocket for again. The mechanic at********** also informed me that Tuffy has had an ongoing issue with customers complaining about their work being undone.
