I brought 4 computers to the store. In speaking with the gentleman there, he indicated that 2 were not worth fixing, I took his word for it and donated the older laptops to the store. He said he would call me with an estimate. In the meantime we let him know we were moving to the west coast and the computers were a gift to 2 low income neighbors but we had someone who would pick up and pay for the repairs. This was mid November 2022 I received a very garbled voicemail on 1-10-23 which was not legible. It took me a few days to return the call since it seemed to be a spam call. When I called back a lady answered and handed the phone to a gentleman To speak to me. He told me that he was keeping my equipment, I asked why and his words were because I can, you signed a contract and he did his due diligence. He said it had been 30 days since he first contacted me (nearly a month after leaving the computers). He said my voice mail was full which is untrue as person left a very garbled message for me on 1-10-23. I went back and researched my cell bill and it appears he did not try to reach me as indicted. I have copies of both the cell bill and the garbled message. I would like my equipment back and I would be surprised if he has done any work. This is really shameful behavior.

Tried to contact customer on several occasions, at no point was there any contact with the customer beyond the initial encounter. An estimate of $75 Dollars for repair of each machine was given at the time the customer dropped them off.

The Service contract the customer signed clearly states that if a computer is left for 30 days or more without being paid for, It becomes the property of Computers Unlimited.

Six weeks with no contact from the customer is more than generous before a claim is made.

Customer Policy is being changed to add an email address for contact so misunderstandings like this do not arise in the future.
