The Lincoln Appraisal Group was selected by ******** ********* ******** (***) to appraise a home for me to purchase. The appraisal occurred **** ****. The bank received it **** ****. During the underwriting process an error by the appraiser was discovered. The appraiser was contacted *** *** and asked to make the correction for an ****** *** closing. The bank's 3rd party made contact with them on the ***, there was no feedback on *** the ***. At 5 PM on ****** *** (day before closing) Martha (I believe) with Lincoln Appraisal Group notified me that the appraiser cannot make edits. His State license expired on the **** and she hoped it would be reinstated by *** the ****. I asked why we were not contacted sooner than the night before closing. She stated she contacted her third party and it was their responsibility to let the bank know. I asked since they knew the error was on their staff and company, could they quickly send out another appraiser to create a new report so we can move forward with the closing. She stated the soonest someone could come would be ******** the ****. I stated I didn't feel we were being made a priority when the report error was on their appraiser, the lack of license was on their side, and the closing date was documented. She stated there were many families in my same situation due to the State license and so she couldn't make all of us a priority. They simply would start making edits if he was reinstated on the ****. There was no alternative stated if he was not reinstated on the ****. I tried to contact *** to confirm if they were contact. Per their certificate of appraiser independence, it stated "appraiser selection was performed at the sole discretion of ***". The customer service agent stated I need to contact my bank for them to call her. I asked to speak with supervisor, she said No. I explained I was documenting a BBB complaint and wanted to confirm if they were notified. She said go ahead and notify BBB and hung up.
