I am filing a complaint due to negligent brake pad installation that nearly caused a life-threatening accident. On April 23, 2024, I paid $662 for the installation of 2 new brake pads on the rear of my car and a general spark plug renewal. However, the brake pads were improperly installed, as they were stacked on top of the old ones instead of being properly replaced. This caused brake failure while I was driving on the highway, almost resulting in a serious accident. Additionally, the faulty installation damaged my vehicle’s rotor, which I had to replace at my own expense. When I reviewed my receipt from American Lube Fast, I noticed that the brake repair charges were not itemized; they simply listed one lump sum for “services and labor” without clearly breaking down the parts and work performed. I then took my car to another mechanic, who confirmed the damages and outlined the errors made by American Lube Fast. This dangerous mistake not only led to costly repairs but also put my life in jeopardy. I am requesting a full refund for the brake service and asking for an investigation into this matter to ensure this does not happen again to other customers. Attached are the mechanic’s report and receipts for both the original brake service and a later spark plug repair. At the time of service, I was grieving the recent passing of my ******, and I believe the shop took advantage of my emotional state by performing negligent work and charging me without properly completing the service. I trust the Better Business Bureau will take swift action to address this serious issue and the mechanic who had to fix my car's information is on the attached documents for reference.

The warranty only applies to workmanship and parts when we supply them. The customer supplied their own parts in which we do not cover. Furthermore, it's impossible to stack brake pads into a caliper because of fitment. I've been with this company for 28 years now, and I've never encountered an issue like this because of fitment.

I had the worst experience I ever had with this business. I went in for an oil change and was talked into getting my oil flushed also because of some "'gunk''' "being on my oil filter. This whole process finished, and I do not get shown my oil dip stick before or after the oil change. No fluids were checked, no tire pressure was checked, no checks were done to see if my battery was in good condition, blinkers, headlights, brake lights, etc. were working. But all of the paperwork showed that the checks have been completed. Right after the service I drove out of the parking lot and noticed my oil light had come on (which was not on before the service). She then told me to come back the next day so that she could have another mechanic to do it for her. I got up for work the next morning and entered the expressway and my car would not go above 60 mph at that time. While I was driving 60 mph my car WENT INTO LIMP MODE WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC AROUND ME. I cruised until it was safe to pull to the side. I called someone to come get me and go back to American Lube Fast and we were there at 7:50 and left my car on the side of the road. I ran into the manager, JEREMY, and told him about the situation. He looked under my hood and the first thing we agreed on was that there was no oil in my compartment as well as when the dip stick was pulled out there was not a drop of oil on it. When he got back to the shop his whole story changed about that situation. While we were at the shop that morning, I asked Jeremy if the mechanic could bring oil out to my car, which he did, in hopes of my car starting to drive again. He placed oil in the car, but this had no effect whatsoever. I could not even crank my car up anymore. He was telling me how they were usually good at fixing people's problems when things go wrong. The mechanic was also saying how I could possibly get a brand-new motor once they look into it. I contacted corporate and spoke to someone and could not contact anyone after that.

This guy contacted us twice but was told his issue had nothing to do the oil change. It was a sensor issue that he wired himself that was verified for the mechanic at ****.

While I was in for an oil change, the technician locked my keys in my car. The tech then used a flathead and a coat hanger to attempt to get the key and destroyed my car above the drivers door. The manager agreed to pay for the damages but never covered any of the quotes I provided them from the body shops. This is a terrible company and they are outright disrespectful
