I ordered parts 8 days ago with expedited shipping. Parts are still not even available for shipping for boats.net. They have exact equivalent parts sitting around available for shipping and wouldn't send them without me eating the cost difference. Could be weeks before they are actually shipped.

    Business Response

The "equivalent" part is an OEM part, where as the customer purchased a less expensive aftermarket part. This order was shipped, via ***, on 7/7/2025. The order is expected to deliver on 7/10/2025, per ***.

I am rejecting this response because: I ordered expedited shipping and items weren't shipped for a full week after ordering. When order was placed I was told they were available to ship next day.

    Sincerely,

Shipping time begins after processing, as notated on our website at checkout. Unfortunately there is no way currently to link our system to the manufacturer, therefore, all ETAs displayed are best estimates, based on average time it takes for parts to arrive to our distribution center. Once we place the order with the manufacturer and receive updates, we send those out via email. An email was sent to the email address on file on 7/2/2025, advising of this delay. Once shipped, the order arrived on the 3rd business day after shipping.

I ordered 4 small parts, 1lb, for a lower unit install and paid extra for expedited shipping. What did they do? They sent it **** ****** - yes, the ****** *******...the slowest of them all. I'm only 350 miles away from their GA distribution center, and this order is going to take 4 days to arrive at the earliest. I will NEVER do business with this scam company again! 2 days until I do the job and now I have to order the parts elsewhere because boats.net can't do anything about it. What a joke!

This customer has left negative reviews on every website possible, due to a delay with the carrier. At this time, we have issued a full refund to the customer.

Greetings BBB staff or to whomever it may concern,

Please help. Boats.net sent me wrong oil filters. The three oil filters were switched without my consent (part number ************* [made in USA by ****] instead of ************* [made in ***** by ******* **** ****]).

    Date ordered: **********

I've contacted the seller twice: via text and via e-mail to request the return process but it was ignored. I wrote to them explaining the item listing on their website is wrong. And if the part their customer orders is not available – they must state it on their website or communicate with their customer at the very least.

The only reply I got is that "************* has been superseded to the newest part number *************". Their website doesn’t state that. I would not have ordered in the first place.

I was also assured the fitment is the same, the quality of these filters is inferior to the ************* according to many sources online incl. forums and videos comparing the disassembled oil filters. The part No. is different for a reason.

I also told the customer support to remove the following online listings from their website to not confuse the consumers: ************* and *************. Because it's hard to find these oil filters, ************* was my second choice which are also hard to find but they are out there.

For example, some websites such as ******** ***** issue a warning that their supply of these is very low. But there is no warning information on boats.net. It appears as if they have both oil filter part numbers in stock readily available for shipping. This is concerning as some customers may be deceived just like I was.

The oil filters are sealed and in their original packaging in the original shipping box. I don't intend to use them.
I have e-mail and text correspondence to share as well as references, details on oil filter specs if needed.
    Please see attached screenshots.
Let me know if you need anything else.

    Thank you!

    Sincerely,
    *** *******

ON ******** customer placed order ********** via our website for part number *************. Our website states ************* is superseded by *************. Once the order was placed the customer received a status email with this information as well. If a manufacturer supersedes the original part number, we are unable to receive the original as it is no longer being produced. As a courtesy, we have processed a return for the items under return: ************ and the customer received a *** Prepaid label. The package is currently in transit back to us under *** tracking ******************. We have also processed a refund for the original shipping cost paid by the customer in the amount of $9.95, which will be applied back to the original payment method within 3-5 business days. Once the parts are returned, the customer will be refunded for the parts and taxes in the amount of $30.75. The total refund in two separate transactions will be a total of $40.70.

The seller states: “Our website states ************* is superseded by *************. Once the order was placed the customer received a status email with this information as well.”

Please see their *************.png file as it is not their website at all. The screenshot was taken from Partzilla.com, not Boats.net where I made my purchase.

And once the order was placed, there was no information in a status email about ************* being superseded by *************.

Please see my newly attached screenshots for proof.

originally requested the ************* being removed from Boats.net website. As well as ************* since it was also superseded by ************* but Boats.bet still avoids my request. It seems Boats.net aims to continue deceiving future unsuspecting customers who have no idea what they will get instead.

As I originally stated, the part numbers are different due to build quality. And customers who think will get a better quality part made in ***** by Filtech Toyo Roki (*************) will get an inferior quality part made in USA by **** (*************). A high-school student with some time to browse the internet can find the difference between ************* and *************.

    Business Response

    Date: 04/14/2025

************* and Boats.net are part of the same parent company of ******* *******. We are working with our website developers to update Boats.net to reflect the information of the supersession information provided in the screenshot. All descriptions from our website are uploaded directly from the manufacturer sites. We are working to update the website at the time to show ************* has been superseded to *************.

I placed the order on Aug 30th, at the time the part said it was in stock. I ordered 2 at the price of $4.20 totaling $8.40 plus tax and shipping for a total of $18.63.

Today Sept 4th, received an email stating that it was on back order with no ETA. It was 5:14 cst/ 6:14 est when I tried calling and texting and using their chat feature all within business hours and they all stated that the business was closed to call back or message back during business hours.

If the original order cannot be completed within the next 3 business days, I would like a full refund of the parts and shipping since I had to pay shipping on a part that I never received and will likely not receive in the foreseeable future.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/05/2024

Our website shows this part as "Ships in 2 to 3 days," which indicates the part is not in stock. The order was placed on a Friday, and with Monday being a holiday, we were unable to place our order for this part with the manufacturer until Tuesday (9/3). Once we were notified of the delay from the manufacturer, we immediately sent out an update via email. On Wed (9/4), we closed early for system maintenance. Our records indicate that an agent spoke with the customer first thing Thursday (9/5), and processed the cancellation for the customer. A full refund has been issued.

This order was placed on ****** no* *****. The part was not in stock at the time the order was placed. The part arrived to us on *****, and was promptly shipped out via Expedited Shipping, Boats.net upgraded the shipment to *** 2nd Day Air at no additional cost due to the delay. Ordered a cargo box for my UTV. Upon arrival it was the wrong one. Notified company and sent it back on my dime. They admit wrong , refunded the purchase price but not shipping yet. Heres a text they sent me (one of many emails):

Thank you for reaching out. We do apologize for the delay in receiving your check. We have mailed out your check to you and will be coming by the post office. Unfortunately it can take 45-60 days for processing through mail.

Not only to insulting me but also ****.

A check, in the amount of $137.69, was mailed on or about *****2023. Unfortunately, we must allow the full 45 days for the check to arrive, from the date of mailing before taking further action. At this time, our Accounting Department is reviewing this issue. If the check has indeed not been cashed, it will be cancelled and reissued.
