My vehicle was towed on Tuesday 06-03-2025 from my apartment building. The reason for the towing was that my vehicle tag was assumed expired but it was not. I renewed my tag last November of 2024. My birthday is in the month of January and now my vehicle gets towed while I am at work. The company PLR towing company told me that they tagged the vehicle Monday 06-02-2025; but I got home from work really late in the evening and I did not see the notice nor did they leave me any information of who towed my vehicle. I found the company that my complex hired to tow vehicles and tried to call them but they were closed. There is a sign posted by the entrance of my complex that tells who is the towing company and it states in bold letters opened 24 hours which is not true because it’s misleading about there actual business hours. Also, I only found out that PLR took my vehicle by going there and seeing for myself that my vehicle was inside their locked fence.
When I renewed my tag last November I did not notice that the tag was “blue” and the year was for “2025” until now because of this towing incident. I looked online through the GA Revenue site where you can check if a tag is valid or not and my tag was valid. I told the people at PLR and they said it does not matter only if the tag has the right year and color. I asked if they ever check and they said no because they do not have time to do so. They also informed me that take only cash and since PLR is a private business they are allowed to demand cash payments only; that is against the GA regulations about paying towing companies demanding only cash payments. The last thing is that my vehicle got damaged on the passenger side; the passenger door has a dent and scratch mark and the side mirror got damaged. I have left a message with them today 06-04-2025 since they are closed because it’s after business hours. I feel that I shouldn’t had to pay for the towing and I need my vehicle repaired.

Thank you for reaching out to us and allowing a response to this claim.

On Monday, June 2, 2025 at 7:27am, our apartment servicing agent serviced the *** ** ********** located at *** ** ******** ****. ******, GA ***** at the Apartment managers request. We are to tag any vehicles present with any issues against their private property requirements. We tagged several units including **. *****'s 20** ****** ** *******, for expired tag/sticker as of 01/2025, allowing 24 hours to correct the violation. The vehicle is required per the apartment policies to have an up-to-date sticker on their tag at all times, showing the unit has current registration. Unfortunately, this violation was not corrected in the allowed time and was impounded on June 3, 2025, for failure to correct this violation, by Professional Locators and Recovery, Inc, in ******, GA. The apartment manager  agreed for the unit to be towed as it was a direct violation and the owner was warned with a vehicle violation notice on the vehicle.

**. ***** arrived to our location, Wednesday, June 4, 2025, irate, demanding we release his vehicle free of charge as his tags were current on the vehicle. We explained several times his tags expired 01/2025 and he must get the tag renewed for him to return back to the apartment complex he was towed from. **. ***** threatened to trespass our property to "steal" the unit back and stated no one would stop him. We asked for **. ***** to go to his local tag office, handle the issue and redeem his unit from impound. **. ***** left for about 20 minutes and returned with the payment to redeem his unit. He paid the fees owed, signed the release agreement, watched as his vehicle was brought up to him and he left our property with the vehicle.

Thursday, **. ***** calls stating we damaged his vehicle on the passenger side and he wants our business to fix his vehicle. We explained to him we did not damage his unit in any way as the vehicle was pulled up on a flatbed by the tires of the car and safely transported to our location. **. ***** watched us bring his unit up to him on our lot with no additional damage, other than the previous damage that already exist on his vehicle. His vehicle has pre-existing major damage on the trunk hatch, including dents and rust, and severe damage on the passenger side front and rear doors and rear panel, including dents, scratches and rust. Professional Locators and Recovery, Inc. did not damage **. *****s vehicle in any way while in our possession from 06/03/2025-06/04/2025. Please see attached documents for this tow.
