  I created a account with bitpay and secured my 12 word recovery phrase. I made a bitcoin deposit and tried to send it to another wallet of mine and was denied because apparently I made a encrypted passcode for my transactions (which I did not). Their support and website keeps telling me to follow their steps for a account recovery to by-pass the encrypted passcode but when I import my 12 word phrase to import my wallet a balance of **** is reflecting. Not only a zero dollar balance but the wallet address is new. The website says to delete the wallet once old wallet is imported but I don't want to take the risk of permanently deleting my wallet holding my funds. It has been days since their customer service has reached back out to me after giving such general responses as answers.

  i made a deposit with bitpay. i have not received my prepaid card nor am i able to withdraw funds. i spoke with a bitpay representative and they do not take the calls serious and they have not helped at all. this company is fraudulent. i checked their registered agent in georgia and its a shelf corp. they are absolutely scamming and trading off the money we deposit. "Ponzi".

  They put a **** Preauth back out for twenty dollars of gas I bought. Then "Ray" from customer service did not know what I was talking about. He stated for me to "Listen" in a aggressive manner. They said my twenty dollars does not exist and I don't know what I am talking about. I filled a formal complaint with the **************** I would stay away from this exchange for Bitcoin. BITPAY is a SCAM

  Were very sorry this customer had a poor experience with the ********************** Card. As always, we appreciate customers reaching out and reporting issues to us.  

  There were two authorizations for $20 on this customers card. One of the $20 authorizations was settled; the other was never charged to the card balance. This $20 authorization is consistent behavior at many gas stations, in fact, this issue is specifically called out in the BitPay Cardholder Agreement:

  Authorization Holds. ...If you authorize a transaction and then fail to make a purchase of that item as planned, the approval may result in a hold for that amount of funds. Car rentals, hotels and other service-oriented merchants may choose to factor in additional amounts upon check-in, and it may take up to ************************** your rental to have any excess amounts held by the hotel or rental company added back to your available balance. Similarly, some gas stations may factor in additional amounts to cover potential filling of the tank; if you want to avoid such a hold, you may want to pay inside the gas station, instead of paying at the pump. Until the transaction finally settles, the funds subject to the hold will not be available to you for other purposes. We will only charge your Card for the correct amount of the final transaction, and we will release any excess amount when the transaction finally settles.

  At BitPay, the success of our customers is very important to us, and we regret any challenges that this customer had with their ********************** debit card. Due to concerns our support team had with abusive language from this customer, we were put in the unfortunate situation where we were forced to close his account to protect the well-being of our team members. As such, we consider this situation resolved.

  I have a Coinbase account and I have never actually paid for anything via Cryptocurrency before. Anyhoo, I decided to go to a coin dealership online to buy some precious metals and at checkout it offered crypto as a payment option.I went ahead and paid with my Coinbase account but the merchant that handles it is BitPay. I have had NOTHING but problems since I made my purchase. The coin merchant can see that there was an attempt, but it didn't go through.... YET, BitPay took my ETH out of my Coinbase account... So, where did my ETH currency go? I have been going back and forth via email with BitPay because the 888 number they give you just makes you ask for online help so you don't actually get to speak to a person... Shocker!They have been giving me a hard time asking for a transaction number. There is NO transaction number. I NEVER received a transaction number. I gave them ALL of my other information. When the date the purchase was made, my name, number, email, etc... But, nope they want that transaction number that doesn't exist. I have tried escalating this to management, so lets see how that goes. I only received one email from them asking what name I used to make the transaction and I have already answered that question. I WILL NEVER use BitPay again. It would have been easier to transfer the funds to my bank from Coinbase and then pay from my bank account vs going through all of this. BitPay is TERRIBLE. Do not use them for a merchant when you have the option to at checkout. AWFUL experience and I am still dealing with it as I type this. I am beyond UPSET about this.
