I am writing to formally file a complaint against Roswell OBGYN, located at *************************************************. On April 30, 2025.I received care from this provider. After my visit, I was sent a bill for $1,500. I was not given a Good Faith ********* nor was I informed beforehand that my insurance would not cover the cost of services. Had I been made aware of the charges, I would have had the opportunity to make an informed decision about my care. After questioning the charges, the office offered to reduce the bill to $900 or alternatively write it off entirelybut only if I agreed to be dismissed from the practice. I find this to be both coercive and retaliatory. It is especially concerning given the sensitive and ongoing nature of OB/GYN care. This situation has left me financially and emotionally stressed, and I believe it violates both the spirit of the No Surprises Act and general ethical guidelines around patient care and billing practices. I respectfully request that your office review this matter and advise me of any actions that can be taken to investigate or hold this provider accountable.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am happy to provide documentation, including the bill, communications with the provider, and insurance records, if needed.

***** *** had an IUD insertion at Roswell ObGyn 4/30/2024. Evidence of whether she knew or we knew that her insurance company did not cover contraception  at 100% is sketchy. Our provider says she routinely tells patients to be sure if they have 1st dollar contraception coverage, but as you know, conversations are not recorded.

Be that as it may, her insurance company denied 1st dollar contraception coverage leaving her owing the balance.

I heard about this issue roughly 2 weeks ago as Ms *** had sent in a portal message explaining that we should write off the professional service charge AND the cost of the device. I was told we had previously offered to write off a portion of the bill. I then told our folks that we could discount the balance even more, but that if Ms *** declined to pay even a dime, then we should terminate our relationship.

You might know that patients can terminate their relationships with a medical pracitce, simply by never making another appointment. With us, we have to send a certified letter that states we are dismissing them, but we have to provide emergency ObGyn services for the ensuing 30 days. She was sent this letter and it obviously angered her.

I've been in practice for 37 years and I can remember very few patients who have been as brazen as Ms **** She had an actual successful service provided. Unlike many others companies, she had insurance that does not cover contraception 1st dollar. She was given a chance to compromise and declined. You'd think we provided a service that failed.

She got her way - the charges all writen off and we're taking the loss.

She does not get to stay in our practice. Why would she think she gets to decide that too? Why would you?
