I recently spoke to cancel this debt settlement program since I was misled by ********* that I would not be in a debt settlement program. ********* also said I could still use my credit card while I would be on the program which I cant through CFT. So I have been lied to and I want to refund. CFT said they would refund me but my account is still active and I received no cancellation confirmation from the company. I also see my account is still in active status which should be on cancelled status. So now both CFT and ********* lied to me and are just trying to **** in as many fees as they can from me.

CFT is the provider of the deposit account used with your debt settlement program. We do not participate in the debt settlement process or restrict the usage of your credit cards. In reviewing our records, we find that you emailed us on 9/26, we reached out for confirmation, but didn't get a response. However, we initiated the account closure, but transactions were in process and could not be stopped. Those transactions settled on 9/28, and they have all been reversed. We can now close the account and remit the funds back to your external bank account.

(This is a duplicate of a complaint filed yesterday, 9/12/23.)

You established a deposit account with us and agreed to the terms and fees. From what we can see in our records, you closed the account yesterday, and today we sent the remaining balance to your bank account on file. Also today, you questioned the fees charged and we agreed to refund $21.50 of the $42 charged, as acceptable resolution of your concerns. That refund has been completed and will also be sent to your bank account. Please let us know if this does not resolve the issue.

I was charged today by this company even after I have told them that I need to review the contract and have my lawyer look it over. I didnt authorize nor did I do the welcome call where we would have discussed terms. They did this fraudulently just because they have my information does not give them the right to charge me. Since they did this they caused an overdraft charge from my bank of $27. They need to get authorization from customers before they do this.

CFTPay is the provider of the deposit account used to fund your debt settlement program. We received a signed account agreement, with authorization to draft from your bank account and deposit into your CFTPay account. The account agreement was delivered to us by your debt settlement provider. We contacted them, and we were informed that the account document was sent in error. They also said they had spoken to you and were sending you the $27.00 to cover the fee you incurred from your bank. We trust this will resolve the issue, but if not, please let us know.

      **************,

CFTPay is the provider of the special purpose deposit account you opened to support your debt settlement program with ***************.  We are not a debt settlement provider or a creditor, we hold the account and make transactions as you instruct.  According to our records, ***** and ************************* entered into the debt settlement program with Huron and opened an account with ********************** on 7/16/2020.  You instructed CFTPay to draft monies from your bank account, to build up savings in your CFTPay account, and you instructed ** to make payments to ***************** in the amount of $345.00 in the first month and $55.00 per month thereafter.  You also agreed to our account service fees.  Per those instructions, we drafted a total of $3,991.84 from your bank account, paid $950.00 to *****************, and collected $175.40 in account service fees over the course of the year you had your account with us.  This left a balance of $2,866.44, which you withdrew on 7/13/2021 when you closed your account.

As we are neither a creditor or a debt settlement provider, we cannot speak to what might've happened with a debt being sold, or to the status of your debt settlement program.  For questions about those issues, you'd need to contact Huron.

This account appears to have been handled properly by CFTPay.  Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns about the services provided by CFTPay.
