This is not my first complaint. I was first contacted by Manheim, informing me of vehicle purchases made under my namepurchases I had no prior knowledge of.After that initial contact, I began receiving repeated and harassing phone calls from Manheim, demanding payment for vehicles allegedly purchased in states hundreds of miles away from me.Once I was made aware, I took immediate action to notify Manheim that I was a victim of fraud. My ****************** had been stolen, and my account had been hacked. My office was also in a shared location with several others. I had no involvement in these transactions. Following my initial report, I contacted Manheim several more times to escalate the issue and request that the matter be properly investigated and resolved. Nothing was done.Despite my efforts, I was wrongfully held responsible for a balance of around $32,000, which Manheim later reduced to $8,000, claiming the vehicles had been sold. This occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic and involved online activity, when fraud was widespread and systems were more vulnerable. When I initially filed my complaint, I found that multiple other individuals had reported similar experiences, pointing to a clear pattern and possible scam involving compromised accounts and fraudulent transactions.Business Response

There was no legal action taken by Jamilah Bonner regarding
fraudulent activity on her account.
Jamilah Bonner has been made aware of the resale loss on her account in
the amount of $7,666.00 that would need to be paid in order for her account to be
reinstated with Manheim.Customer Answer
Date: 06/26/2025
Complaint: 23518702
I am rejecting this response for the following reasons:
At no point was I informed that legal action would be necessary. From the very beginning, I repeatedly asked what steps I needed to take, yet no clear guidance or assistance was provided. The only response I consistently received was a demand for payment.
It is not a coincidence that several new dealers fell victim to this same scam during the COVID-19 pandemic. Why would I pay $8,000 for vehicles I never purchased or even saw? These vehicles could have been removed from my account, especially since you were made aware of the situation in a timely manner. Why were the vehicles valued significantly lower after they were allegedly sold to me? If you were aware that fraud had occurred, why weren’t they arbitrated for the same amount to ensure a fair resolution?
You had ample opportunity to resolve this matter fairly, but failed to do so.
Sincerely,
Jamilah BonnerBusiness Response

Complaint: 23518702
I am rejecting this response because:
As previously stated, you had ample time to correct this situation, yet you failed to take appropriate action. You could have easily informed the sellers that this was a case of fraud, but instead, you chose to capitalize on the error and hold me liable.
Your primary focus was collecting payment from me, despite being fully aware that I was a victim of fraud. I followed the only option provided to me, trusting that you would do the right thing and remove the balance from my account. Instead, you did the opposite and are still attempting to collect nearly $8,000 for vehicles I never purchased or even saw.
Sincerely,
Jamilah BonnerInitial Complaint

We bought a truck on June ******* that was listed online with an odometer reading of ******* miles, and the condition report stated both the odometer and *** mileage as the same value, *******. However, upon picking up the truck, we noticed a significant discrepancy:The odometer read ******* (as listed), but The *** read a mileage of *******.We brought this to the attention of *****, the Operations Manager, who stated that they only declare the Vehicle distance as *** despite the listing and condition report implying otherwise. He did provide a picture from the scan tool showing the *** mileage as ******* but just said sorry that he feels bad but cant do anything even it being an error on part of Manheim declaring the *** mileage as incorrect which impacted us in our decision making as we made the decision based on the vehicle have the lower *** mileage.Business Response

Manheim Indianapolis spoke with Mr. Sandhu and provided a
screen print from Manheim's ECM reader/J-pro and the SOAR system that confirmed
the information that we provided was correct.
Mr. Sandhu was also advised that anything over 16,000 pounds is exempt from
odometer disclosures, and that Manheim provides the information that is pulled
from the vehicle at the time we receive it.
Manheim Indianapolis has determined and communicated with Mr. Sandhu
that this will remain an invalid arbitration complaint.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because as seen in the pictures the ECM mileage from the scanner is different and the one mentioned on the CR report is different. I have attached pictures of both provided by the auction where it is a clear misrepresentation.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Misrepresented Vehicle Purchase at Manheim Auto Auction To Whom It May Concern,I, ***** ******* of ********************, am submitting this formal complaint regarding a deceptive transaction with Manheim Auto Auction, operated by *** Automotive. On June 16, 2025, I purchased a 2011 Dodge Durango SUV Express (VIN: *****************) from Manheim Chicago AA through their OVE sale. I am rejecting this response because: This statement is inaccurate. At no point did we request to withdraw from the deal — the seller and Manheim San Antonio unilaterally cancelled the transaction without our consent or prior discussion. We were fully prepared to complete the purchase under the agreed terms. The classification of 'Buyer Withdrew' is incorrect and should be rectified to reflect the actual sequence of events

May 22, 2025 $11776.80 Was told previously to wait until I receive the vehicle and I have 7 days to get the vehicle inspected and an additional 2 days if the car is late past the 10 days of delivery. I purchased a vehicle from the auction and the and noticed the car had major issues even though it was advertised no major issues. After getting the vehicle inspected found all type of codes and the codes were erased to sell. I tried to arbitrated, now I'm being told different things about arbitration process. I have had a few others arbitrated and had no issues. This was advertised on the companies website and not to mention I have spoken to several arbitrators on the process of arbitration.Business Response

The
unit was purchased by SN&M Auto Sales LLC on May 22nd which is day one of
arbitration. Transportation was
purchased through Ready Logistics, which would have given Mr. Strickland an
extra two days to arbitrate the vehicle.
The unit was received by SN&M Auto Sales LLC on June 3rd, so Mr.
Strickland would have had until the 5th of June to initiate an arbitration
claim. The claim was not initiated until
June 9th which would make this an invalid arbitration claim.Initial Complaint

Date of complaint starts on May14, 2024 I'm a used car dealer licensed in ******** and I bid on a vehicle (2010 **** F-150) on my computer at my office in ********. The bid was denied immediately. A few hours later I received a call from the Seller (first time ever hearing from a seller!!) He was upset that I did not raise my bid. I told him I already bought something else and I told him I was not interested in his vehicle at ****** 5:30 p.m. I got a text from Manheims main office in Atlanta ****** telling me that the buyer wanted $700 more than my offer and would I pay more. I said **** week or so later I got a notice from Manheim that I had to pay for this vehicle or be banned from the auction. That's what they have done!! Complaint: 23450809
I am rejecting this response because: I never received any confirmation that my original bid of $4500 was accepted. The sellers listed price was $5500 according to the *** (Online Vehicle Exchange) sight. I offered a bid of $4500 and it was immediately rejected with a "Floor Not Met" notification to me. I knew from my previous 27 years of buying vehicles that this means that I must bid higher = and I did not want to go higher. I turned off my computer and went to town here in *********A few hours later I received a phone call from the seller. (This was the first time in 27 years that I had ever had a seller call me about a bid!) He wanted to know why I did not bid higher and I told him $4500 was even too high. He asked me how much I would pay and I told him that I was not interested at all at this point because he had told me it was not operable and needed a valve job and my original plan was to fly to Ft Lauderdale and drive it back to *********
At 5:30 p.m. that night I received a text message from: ************** - **** from Manheim It reads: On the 2010 **** F150 in the ***** you have a bid for $4500, seller needs $5200 to sell. Let me know if that would work for you. Thanks
I did not see this text until the next day and I saw or heard nothing else until I happened to look at my Manheim account and saw that I was charged for this vehicle! No one has ever shown or told me how or why I was charged.. A vehicle I never accepted or was not even told that I purchased? WHO authorized the sale is the person that is at fault.
I really would have paid the $4500 that I bid IF I was told that was acceptable. I know that "**** from Manheim" wanted me to pay what the seller wanted -- $5200 at 5:30 p.m. So who made the decision to sell it to me for the $4500 that I originally offered? What's the time frame for an offer and acceptance?
I've probably lost many thousands of dollars by being "banned" from buying and selling this past year. I just want to buy and sell at Manheim. like I've done since 1997!
Sincerely
******* *******

I am filing this complaint against Manheim Auctions (*********** location) due to their false accusation of property damage, unjustified billing, and subsequent account lockout, which has severely impacted my business, AlboetMotorsportsL.L.C. Incident Details: At Manheim Mississippi On the day in question, I was at the Manheim facility to pick up a vehicle. The lot manager accused me of damaging a security gate with my 19 ******* She demanded my insurance information before allowing me to leave, which I provided. However, she did not file a claim or provide any evidence of damage at that time.Approximately 11 months later, while at the facility for another transaction, the same lot manager approached me and claimed I had broken the gate. She then imposed a $19,000 charge on my account without providing any invoice or proof of damage.I immediately contacted the general manager, who stated he was unaware of the issue. After speaking with the lot manager, he sided with her without reviewing any evidence.I returned to the facility to take photos of the gate, which showed no damage.Additionally, an employee working at the gate voluntarily stated that the gate had been broken prior to my visit and that my vehicle did not cause any damage.Evidence: I have timestamped photos of the gate showing no damage.A witness (Manheim employee) has provided a statement confirming the gate was already damaged and that my vehicle did not cause it.Impact: Manheim has locked my account, preventing me from accessing vehicles I have already purchased and paid for.I am unable to obtain titles for these vehicles, leading to delays and customer complaints. Some customers have accused me of scamming them, which has damaged my business reputation.I have attempted to resolve this issue directly with Manheim, but they have refused to negotiate or provide any documentation. Their actions have been unprofessional and appear to be an abuse of power.Business Response

I went to pick up my vehicle and the incompetent, untrustworthy employees failed to inform me that either their company or one of their employees stole my license plates. They also failed to inform me that my fairly new battery was completely dead and not working when I saw my vehicle. The employee ***** at the front desk also failed to inform me of these issues with my vehicle. This company is dishonest and provide no assistance to customers. I am rejecting this response because:Their response is inaccurate and invalid as when I picked up my vehicle the employees on the lot instructed me to "check out my car before I left the lot". Why would they specifically tell me that if there was nothing wrong with my vehicle. Again these shady and incompetent employees stole my car battery and inserted an old one as I had warranty on my original battery. The car was turned on so I was unaware of the dead battery until I got home and turned off my car. ***** also failed to inform me of this issue as she's the person I dealt with at the front desk.
There's a reason this business has horrible reviews and again NOT BBB accredited.
