I ordered an item from a baby registry and ordered it with the shipping directly to the recipients house, as they requested on the registry. After receiving an order confirmation, i went back to the baby list registry to mark that i purchased it (i waited two hours in case of any issues) , and added the order number as the registry requests. Maybe 10 minutes later, i get an email from Carters saying my order was canceled. When I went to call the company to find out what happened, they told me because the billing and shipping address were different, they canceled the order. Well, in 2024 its common practice to ship gifts directly to the recipient. ****** , for example , doesnt have a problem with this. The customer representative from ******************** claimed it was to protect me, the customer from fraud. In my opinion, it is to protect CARTERS and Carters alone. They made no attempt to call me and verify , they made no attempt to rectify the situation. If there is an issue with fraud, it really is Carters problem, not mine. It is common practice to drop ship gifts in 2024 to the gift recipient. It seems every other baby company is in the know about this , except for Carters. I will never order anything from this company again, and I will be voicing my opinions of the company every chance i get to everyone and anyone i know. Shame on you.
