    I regret to say that my experience with Rental cars. com has been extremely frustrating. Back in September 2024, I booked a car and purchased their insurance, expecting peace of mind during my rental. However, everything changed when I was involved in an accident.Initially, the service felt adequate, but once I filed a claim, the nightmare began. It has now been over five months, and I'm still caught in a never-ending cycle of frustration, with the rental company constantly asking me to make payments for damages while they repeatedly tell me to "wait" for updates. The lack of communication and clarity has left me feeling stranded in a stressful situation.Based on my experience, I cannot recommend purchasing insurance from Rentalcarscom. While they might offer decent service until a claim is required, the moment you need support, it turns into a significant headache. My advice to anyone considering their services is to think twice before opting for their insurance. I hope this review helps others avoid the stress I've encountered.Rating: ?????

    I reserved a car using this service because I work for a major airline and we use them for employee rates. I booked a car earlier in the afternoon for a 930p pick up that evening. I selected the "pay now" tab, so it took the $182 from my account immediately. I was then emailed my receipt with the contract. When I went to pick up the car that evening at FOX Rental Car in *********, I was met by a very rude representative who stated that it was an additional security deposit of $668. I did not have $668 on the card (this would be a nearly $850 hold on my card for this one transaction: midsized SUV. Absurd!!!! The man pushed my card back at me and stated that he could not rent to me. I contacted rentalcars.com for a refund of the $182 that I paid since I did not get the car. The representative told me that I could not because I didn't cancel within 24hours. I just made the reservation approx. 8 hours prior. I advised her had I known about the additional $668 hold, I would have NEVER paid at that moment. She then stated, "That's why you have the contract, so you can read it." I did not receive a contact until I paid the $182. I just wanted a refund of the money that I paid since I did not get to use the product (car). In addition, the high security deposit should be disclosed "BEFORE" consumers "PAY NOW." The only solution she gave was a refund of $60.... $60 dollars. Just to be done since we were not getting anywhere, I advised her I would contact my employer benefits and The BBB. Then she had the audacity to ask me to do an employee resolution survey at the end. I just want the full money back for the car I paid for but did not get to utilize and for them to change their wording before consumers pay so that people are not hit with surprised outrageous and ridiculous holds on their Credit Cards.     This company is trying to scam people by intentionally misleading, giving wrong information, and false promises to correct the issue. Please DO NOT USE them! Absolutely no customer service, they never pick up the emergency call lines. You will end up paying WAY WAY more than what they are saying you will pay.

    They have no customer service to speak of which means they arent available to resolve real time problems with the local rental car companies when needed. I genuinely believe they are mainly interested in securing payment first and providing services/assistance secondary. They hide behind hidden charges when a financial restitution might be levied in the customers favor and they have a nonchalant, non-caring attitude when responding to customers with genuine concerns about a rental service disparity. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT USING THEM TO BOOK OR SECURE RENTAL CAR SERVICES OF ANY KIND.

    made two reservations with rentalcars.com during the vacation; both reservations had different pick-up and drop-off points;Rentalcars.com knew this, since they offered me the rental solution at a reasonable price;to my dismay, I had to pay extra fees at both reservations, fees that were not clearly disclosed on rentalcars.com;for one reservation (130 euro) the fee was (170 euro), so it more than doubled the price I paid rentalcars.com.I consider rentalcars.com to have deceptive pricing (to put it lightly);I will never use this service again, and I will never recommend this service to anyone.

    Definitely zero stars. I had the same issue as ****** Our flight was delayed, so I called rentalcars.com to let them know we'd be arriving late. They said there was no problem, made the arrival time change, and guaranteed a car would be available. We waited in a long line and there were no cars available. I had selected the option of payment at pickup - there was no pickup since there were no cars available (as told to us when we made it to the counter after waiting in the line), but they charged my card anyway. They are true scammers and I don't know how they haven't been sued by all of us customers who have had the same experience.

    Paid in full for a 10 day car rental. We get to the airport and were told there were no cars for us and we needed to pay ANOTHER 10 day car rental. We never received a car and ended up having to pay a lot more through the airport themselves. Went 2 days fighting this and eventually the phone operator just gave up and started yelling at us that we needed to give them more money. Refused to give our money back. Called the credit card company to dispute so it sounds like itll be resolved but NOT due to any good customer service. Since this terrible company wont make it right, we have to fix it ourselves. If we cant then a lawyer will absolutely be involved. Dont EVER book through this company. They are SCAMMERS.

    I wish I could give them zero stars. I booked a car rental at *** for 4/2. Upon arriving to pick up the car, we were told by the desk agent that there were no cars left to pick up. Imagine my surprise to learn that a CAR RENTAL location had NO cars. According to the desk agent, they were awaiting for 15 cars to be returned. Waited almost 2 hours in the ********** with 2 toddlers only to be told that no cars were coming and to call rentalcars.com and request a refund. I had to book a car through a separate company to get to where we were going. When I called to request the refund, the first agent said they needed to call the car rental place to confirm I did not receive a vehicle. They stated they could not get through and to file a claim online. The link does not work and I have tried multiple times. When I called rentalcars.com, the second and third agents told me that there was nothing they could do and they were not issuing a refund. I was NEVER given a car, there's no rental agreement and now I'm just out money because they decided to overbook and not have cars available. I will NEVER, EVER use rentalcars.com ever again. This place is a scam and all they do is take your money.

    I reserved a car based on the location shown on the map. After it was reserved, I was sent a different pickup location. I immediately tried to cancel -- within 5 min of booking -- explaining that there was an error in the site.No flexibility, stole my money, even though their site had an error. Total fraud, should be shut down and prevented from operating. Once they have your funds, the only option is chargeback.

    I rented a car for my wife's trip to ***** to see her parents. The rentalcars.com website showed me an acceptable price for the vehicle class, $368 for 6 days. and stated that fees and taxes were included and no additional payments were needed at pickup time. I booked the rental and paid by credit card.My wife has since returned from the trip. At a routine check of the credit card statement, I noticed a $132 charge on her card from Dollar Rent A Car. When we inspected the paperwork, I saw that the printed voucher showed indeed another $132 in fees and taxes that the website still will not show me anywhere when I look at my booking. It only appeared on the printed voucher that you don't see until after you booked the car. The total cost was over $500 - an amount that I would have never paid for a 6-day rental of a ****** Sentra.DO NOT USE RENTALCARS.COM!
