      I applied for a car loan based upon research that this was a BBB-accredited business. I applied on 01/08/25. As of 01/22/25, still no results. My credit rating is impeccable. I inquired multiple times through their chat bot and was told that Underwriting is still reviewing. I inquired afterhours which sends an email to Carputty. I received no response. Based upon the compaints on the BBB website, this company needs to lose their accreditation. As of my inquiry today, I told them to close my application request. My assumption is this company preys upon people with low credit scores or those with no credit. I will file a complaint the ************************************ separtely.

      We apologize that Mr. ***** is not satisfied with our responsiveness.  Our records show Mr. ***** submitted his application on January 15.  We quickly reviewed his application and on January 16 we sent him an email asking for additional information as we could not verify income.  We did not receive the requested information.  On January 20, he called to inquire the status of his application which we indicated it was still in underwriting.  Although a correct statement, we should have also reminded him we were needing additional information.  On January 22, one week after submitting his application, he cancelled it.  We operate on a basis of outstanding customer service and transparency in the lending process which in the auto industry is not strong. And again apologize to Mr. ***** for any inconvenience.

      account deletion and remove data. Per their website it says to email but when i emailed and used the chat they are refusing to delete my account

      Per the complainant this is the Carputty disclaimer -- "If you want to deactivate or delete your Carputty account, please email *****************************************************. You agree that even if you seek to terminate this Agreement, Carputty may be obligated by law to retain information about you and certain transactions." We have cancelled the members account and terminated the Agreement.  We only retain the data required by law and unfortunately there is no recourse for us or any other lender to avoid this.  We do understand that we can improve the verbiage to make it more clear.  We apologize that there is no way for us to delete all the data.

      3rd attempt:

      I am writing to formally request the deletion of my account and all associated personal data pursuant to your stated policy outlined on your website, as well as my rights under applicable laws. Despite previous attempts via email and chat, my request has been denied without sufficient explanation, which contradicts the process your website outlines.


      As a resident of ********, I invoke my rights under the Maryland Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and applicable provisions under the Georgia Consumer Protection Act (GCPA), to have my account permanently deleted and all associated data removed from your systems. Additionally, federal laws such as the *****-*****-****** Act may require you to address this request unless there are lawful obligations to retain certain specific records.


      I request the following actions:
      1.The permanent deletion of my Carputty account.
      2.A confirmation email once my account and associated data have been deleted.
      3.An explanation of any data you are required to retain under legal obligations, including the specific laws and duration of retention.


      Failure to comply with this request within 30 days may result in further actions, including filing a formal complaint with the *********************************, the ************************ (***), and any other relevant data protection authorities.

      Carputty advertises a car loan rate of 4.6% to 12.66%They ran my credit report and I have a credit score of 833 out of 850. This is exceptional credit by all accounts. They gave me a rate of 8.16-8.66% I asked why this would be the case (nearly double their lowest offer).They shared you need to have a credit score of 840 to get 4.66%The % of the population who has this score is less than 5% of consumers. Being an 839 you then get a rate of 8.6%This is false advertising.

      We look at a variety of data to determine a members interest rate (e.g. debt level, income, ....).  Credit score is just one element in determining rates, as such rates can very even with similar credit scores.

      This is also false as the only information you gathered was in fact a credit score. And when I chatted with your employee to ask why I was not given a better rate even though my credit was exceptional they stated, "We only give the best rate to 840 and above and you had 834." So this claim that you consider other factors is a flat out lie as you did not have sufficient information to do so, or permission AND your own *** shared that this does not matter.

      As part of the application process, the applicant agrees to connect their bank through Plaid where we can analyze debt and income. We take a holistic approach in analyzing credit and as stated prior, credit score is just one of the data points.

      This is not true. There was no collection of my bank accounts. I have several, none of which we accessed via Plaid or authorized. Are you claiming you did have access to my bank account? If so can you share which bank account you had access to?
