Requested the services of Quick Pro Locksmith to repair/replace the lock of the glove box in a 1993 Acura Legend LS, as we were unable to lock the glove box, but we were able to open/close the glove box.The technician removed the lock and determined that the lock was broken and that he would need to order the part/replace the lock. He indicated that if the part/lock was not in the warehouse, it would need to be ordered. The technician replaced the broken lock into the glove box. We later found that the glove box is stuck. We are now unable to open/close the glove box. After approximately 1 week, we telephoned the technician to advise that we could not open the glove box and to get an update on the status of the order. He indicated that he had submitted the order, and he would contact the warehouse and advise of the order status. Several days later, we again contacted the technician, and he indicated that it was above his position to know and that we should contact the Dispatch/Office to determine the order status. We explained the situation to the Dispatch/Office, made an appointment and we indicated to them, that if they were unable to get the part, that we would need tor the technician to return the glove box to its original level of operation.Upon arrival to the Dispatch/Office on the appointment date/time (12.02.2024 @1.30-2p); we were advised that they were unable to obtain the lock / part and that the lock was already broken. They then @this time indicated that they dont do automobile locks and they cannot fix the lock to which we explained, the technician shouldve not removed the lock and said that they dont do automobile locks.Again, we advised that we understood that the lock was broken but that we were able to open/close the glove box, before the technician made the glove box totally inoperable. We only want Quick Pro Locksmith to return the glove box to the original level of operation, that is to open / close with the broken lock.

Thank you for sharing your concerns.  We did attempt to repair your broken glove box lock on your 33 year old Accura. The lock on your glove box was broken when we arrived and we removed it, inspected it and saw that it was broken beyond repair and needed to be replaced. We returned the lock back in, and the glove box still opened and closed when our technician tested it while on site. We then attempted to source the lock for you, however as it isn't an available part through our normal sources.

We are sorry to hear that your glove box isn't functioning as you'd like due to your broken lock, but we will not be able to service you for this any longer. Our thousands of happy customers have always been our priority, but once in a while, we have to unfortunately tell them to take their car to the dealership for the service they are seeking. As this 1993 Accura is a much older car, it's our advice to seek your remedy at your Accura dealership for this part as we cannot source it.

We do appreciate your concerns and hope that your dealership will be able to find what you need.

I am rejecting this response because:

We were not present when the Technician put the lock back in and claims that the glove box opened/closed when he left.  We contend that is a straight out LIE!

If it opened/closed when he left, it should've still opened/closed a day afterwards.  He messed it up and does not want to take responsibility!

Although we are rejecting this response, we also understand that there is no recourse for the issue as far as the business is concerned.

The automobile is the automobile, we still contend that if they didn't "do automobile locks" it should have been said in the beginning.

The Technician should've never touched the automobile and deferred to the "dealer."

    Sincerely,
