It is imperative to uphold integrity in clinical settings by avoiding any falsification of documentation in the name of self-preservation. It is also crucial to fully respect and acknowledge patient expressions, particularly when they assert no or stop during clinical encounters. On November 12, 2024, my rehabilitation experience took a deeply troubling turn, diverging significantly from established protocols. During a session with my physical therapist, ***** *******, I was subjected to an unexpectedly aggressive intervention rooted in the misguided assumption that the absence of tears signified the absence of pain. Despite my clear and repeated verbal objections, pleading for the treatment to cease, ******* continued with a forceful manipulation of my arm and shoulder. This invasive approach not only disregarded my expressed discomfort but also inflicted physical damage that necessitated immediate x-rays and a return to the operating room for further intervention. The supervising therapists, ******* (Bill) ******** and ***** *******, failed to intervene, raising concerns about their endorsement of ******* methods. As a direct consequence of this encounter, I developed persistent neuralgia in my shoulder, characterized by searing "thunderbolt" sensations and debilitating pain that lingered for several weeks. I meticulously documented the presence of all staff members, including receptionist ******* ********. As a federal government employee, I feel a strong obligation to express my inability to recommend this facility to anyone in my personal or professional networks. Furthermore, I observed tangible anguish among other patients undergoing therapy at that time. As I prepared to leave, both ******* and ******** approached me for a progress assessment, but my mobility had diminished compared to the start of the session, overshadowing what should have been a rehabilitative experience.
