I had a Rheem HVAC system installed just three years ago, and it has already failed twice. The first issue occurred a few months after installation and I don't remember the exact problem. Most recently, it stopped working again and I was informed that the condenser coil has developed a leak, causing the refrigerant to escape.Although the part itself is still under warranty, Rheem does not cover the cost of the refrigerant or the shipping for the replacement partleaving me with a repair bill of over $1,000. This is extremely disappointing for a relatively new and expensive system. Had the unit not failed, I wouldn't need any refrigerant or be facing this cost at all. When I contacted Rheem customer service, I was told there was nothing they could do and there was no further escalation available. It's frustrating to invest in a product that fails so soon and to receive such limited support from the manufacturer.Whether I received a faulty unit or this reflects the current standard of Rheem products, I wont be purchasing from them again. They do not stand behind their products, and their customer service does little to help when problems arise.

Only 2 years and Rheem tankless water heater is under warranty. Parts are covered but guess what, they dont have those parts anymore. We bought on ****** so they point to ******, meanwhile ****** points to Rheem. Rheem owes us a new water heater and has yet to deliver.

If you have any other option, please do not choose to purchase a Rheem water heater you will absolutely regret it. I purchased a brand-new gas model (6G40-36F3) from ********** less than two years ago, and its already leaking. This unit was bought with a warranty, yet when I contacted Rheem, I was given two disappointing options: return the defective heater to ********** and pay the price difference for a replacement which would restart the warranty or be reimbursed the difference and continue under the original warranty timeline. This is unacceptable. If Im receiving a new unit, it should come with a new warranty period. I shouldnt be penalized because their product failed prematurely. Its incredibly frustrating to spend hard-earned money on something that doesnt last, only to be met with a warranty policy that offers no real protection or peace of ******* this point, the warranty feels useless if Im expected to keep paying out of pocket for their defective products. Its extremely disappointing that such expensive units are not built to last.

We had a hot water tank for roughly 3 years before the pilot control panel went on it, Called Rheem and we were still under warranty, so we got a replacement tank. Installed that one and about 5 weeks later the pilot control panel went again!! After waiting on hold for over an hour, they sent a replacement that took 4 days to get here, even on an expedited order. That one was was installed and not even a month later it went again. Called customer service and they said they could ship it in 2-3 days. Not good enough for me, so they are sending me back for another hot water tank. I hope i just get my money back instead of having ANOTHER faulty piece of junk Rheem hot water tank. I will never buy a Rheem product ever again!! I asked the girl in customer service if there was a recall on the part and she replied no and she said she has never heard of people having this issue before. All she needs to do is read the reviews and she will see I am not the only one to have the same issue. If you decide to go ahead and not believe all the bad reviews then you have more money to throw away than I do.

Rheem Water Heater is 16 months old and essentially worthless. It was drained of any sediment build up completely when it was 9 months old. Two months later the water recirculator ceased being effective due to the heater becoming a closed system. It cannot be drained as the valve is completely blocked. Manual "suggests" draining a few quarts monthly. That does not explain how it could become a worthless closed system that water cannot run through at all in two months time. If to maintain the warranty you are required to drain monthly or your heater will become essentially landfill, the manual should do more than "suggest" draining under "preventative maintenance", Clearly the Rheem heater was a poor quality cheaply made item and company has no intention of honoring your warranty in any way. I found this out after being on hold for 1 hour 10 minutes. Rheem should state that their product does not come with a real warranty, only a piece of paper that contains the word "warranty" and that would be accurate.

Ordered a part for my hot water heater which I did not need and returned. Followed the direction provided by Rheem for the return process and shipped them the unopened box back to them only changing the shipping label. It has been months and their customer service has failed to provide any updates as to my refund and continues to ignore my request for an update or process my refund. 3 months to process a refund is asinine

Important Warning About Rheem Water Heaters and Their Warranty I used to recommend Rheem water heaters, thinking they were a reliable brand with one of the best warranties in the industry. Unfortunately, my recent experience has completely changed my opinion.Despite the unit still being under warranty until 2026 and even being recommended for replacement by the manufacturer, Rheem refused to honor the warranty. I spent hours speaking to multiple representativeseach giving different answersand got nowhere. Even their tech support admitted it should have been a simple process, saying it should have only required the serial number to get a replacement. Yet, I was left hanging with no support and a faulty water ********* make matters worse, Rheems warranty does not transfer to a second homeownersomething thats not clearly labeled anywhere on the unit itself. This is extremely misleading and unfair to homeowners who buy a house with a new Rheem unit, assuming its covered. This experience has been frustrating, disappointing, and frankly feels like a scam. I believe this type of behavior should be reported to consumer protection agencies and state regulators.Bottom line: Be very cautious before buying a Rheem water heater. If youre replacing a unit, I strongly recommend going with another brand that actually stands behind their products and respects their customers time and trust.

      ****,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand your frustration and disappointment regarding the warranty and replacement process. We strive to provide clear and consistent information, and we apologize for any confusion caused by differing responses from our representatives.

Please note that the warranty is non-transferable, as stated on the product's warranty certificate. This means that the warranty does not transfer to a second homeowner, which is why the replacement process may not have been straightforward in your case.

We recommend reviewing the warranty certificate for detailed information on the terms and conditions. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please reach out to us at ************.

We have three years left on our warranty, and Rheem says we have to pay the difference between what we paid originally and the cost of a new water heater. Ive read through the warranty, and that is not what it says. Im sure I will get one of those please contact us messages in response to this review, but Ive already spoken to four people. Why would I waste any more of my time with such a dishonest company?

      En,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand your frustration regarding the warranty and replacement policy. However, as the water heater was purchased from a retailer, their return and replacement policy must be followed, which may include paying a difference in price. Rheem does not have the authority to override the retailers policies, as the product warranty does not take precedence over the stores return policy. Therefore, to obtain a replacement water heater, you must adhere to their procedures.

If we can be of further assistance, please reach out to us at ************.
