Handweavers Guild of America hosts a bi-annual weaving conference, and I had registered and paid for the 2020 Convergence to be held in *********. I paid for two classes, all entry pass and lunches, about $845. When it was cancelled, I asked for a refund and was asked to simply wait for the rescheduled Convergence in 2022. In April this year, HGA sent an email out saying that those who wanted to cancel and get a refund because of the resurgence of Covid-19 needed to ask for that refund no later than April 29, 2022. I sent an email requesting my cancellation and refund on April 13. I was notified that it was received the following week, and that a refund check would be sent shortly, arriving to my mailbox around May 10. When it didn't arrive, I emailed again, and was asked to be patient. On June 23, it still had not arrived, and was told that several people hadn't gotten their checks, and someone would check on it. The office closed the second week of July to go to the conference, and I was told no one was in the office until the first of August, meaning no one could check on my refund until they returned to the office. I called on August 3, and was told that they had re-issued my check on the 2nd, and it should be here by August 10. It is now August 12, so I called and was told that they have been having many problems with the postal service, and someone would check on the refund and get back to me. The postal service is not responsible for their false promises, or their failure to send my refund.
