      Dear Better Business Bureau,

      I am filing a formal complaint against Jiffy Lube regarding a major incident that occurred after my vehicle was serviced at their location at **** ***** ******* ***** ******** ** ***** ****** ****** on August 21, 2024.

      After a routine oil change performed at 3:11 PM by staff members Abraham R., Michael R., Brooke B., and Rosanna R., my vehicle, which was in good working condition, experienced significant stalling and emitted smoke while I was driving on ******* *** around 7:00 PM. This mechanical failure nearly caused a collision with multiple semi-trucks. Upon safely pulling over, I found that oil had leaked profusely from my vehicle, covering both the road and the rear of my car.

      I was forced to have my vehicle towed back to Jiffy Lube, which cost me $85, after waiting over four hours on the side of the highway. The following day, the district manager informed me that their oil change was performed correctly and that the issue was due to an internal motor problem, which he claimed was related to a recall—something I was never previously informed of. My vehicle was functioning properly before the oil change, and the low oil pressure, which caused significant damage, occurred only after the service.

      If there were any concerns about my vehicle, Jiffy Lube should have refused to service it to prevent further damage. I have now had to tow my vehicle to a Hyundai dealership for further inspection, adding additional expense and inconvenience. To make matters worse, my request for a copy of the full video footage of the service was denied by the district manager, raising concerns about transparency.

      This incident has caused me significant financial loss, personal inconvenience, and has posed serious safety risks. I request that Jiffy Lube reimburse me for all related costs and take corrective measures to ensure that similar incidents do not occur in the future.

      We have preformed and inspection on the vehicle and also reviewed video from the service of the vehicle amd all procedures we followed during the oil change which included in summary,  changing the oil , changing the the oil filter, reinstalling the oil drain plug, and adding the recommended amount of oil.

      During the inspection we found the oil filter, oil drain plug tight, and dry meaning nothing wrong with the service we provided. Video evidence reveals that oil was added to the. Vehicle and all double checks we preformed.  There was oil all over the hwy where the vehicle came to a stop and there is oil all over the under carriage of the vehicle. With the amount of oil that was present on the hwy and the vehicle this is also evidence the vehicle had oil in it when it left the jiffyv lube facility.

      In conclusion we have preformed our investigation and found everything we were obligated to do the day of service was completed properly.  We advised the customer to seek a second opinion by visiting the hyundai dealership and to the best of our knowledge this has not be done yet.    Thank you for your time please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
