    Safe Homes of Augusta should be closed down and reported to the Better Business Bureau. The advocates and staff at Safe Homes of Augusta treated me and my two children very poorly and unfairly. The advocates weren't willing to assist me with finding employment or with housing needs as I was originally promised by them when I first entered the shelter. The advocates and staff had a hostile demeanor towards me and my two children during the majority of my stay here. The staff and advocates barely wanted to serve snacks and meals to me and my children, and would gossip to the local cab drivers about the situation I was going through, which, to my understanding was supposed to be kept confidential. Also, as far as keeping the facility "fresh and clean", during my observance while staying at Safe Homes of Augusta, the only areas of the shelter that were being cleaned on a regular basis was the dining room/common area. The rooms where we actually slept were not being regularly cleaned and that probably explains why my children got sick with a cold while staying at the shelter, because of the lack of cleanliness there. I do not recommend this shelter to any women who may be going through a temporary tough situation and looking for help or assistance, please consider another shelter. I will say that after my awful stay at Safe Homes of Augusta, I am delighted and very happy to be back home and reunited with my family.
