Address of service: *********************************************************************************************************** Date of service: 1/8/2025 They charged $750 to clear a drain that clogged the very next day. Refused to return without an additional exorbitant charge. Their "business model"? Try to charge over $1000 to snake a drain (we "negotiated" down to $750), then video the results and use it to pitch a $5000 dollar excavation job (that would destroy shrubs, not replace them, dig a trench, swap out a segment of pipe), even if all of that is not necessary to solve the problem.See uploaded pic here, captured from their own video. They left the jobsite having cleared barely 1" of the 4" diameter pipe. That tiny black hole in the center is what they cleared, and all that junk above are roots that encroached into the pipe. The technician used a spade head to clear the tiny area but instead of changing the snake head to use a rotating sawtooth root-cutter & clear more of the pipe following the video, he simply used the video to pitch the $5,000 job described above.Spoke to a boss named ****** (last name not disclosed). He was completely dismissive, emphasizing they have no warranty; not one, single day. Owner *** ****** wrote: "Once you have roots we stop"My response: Wouldn't it be ethical to inform customers of this practice before you take their money?Owner *** ******: "No ones [sic] sewer is worth a finger".My response: What does that mean? These drains are not cleared by hand. Electrical snakes, their attachments and hydro-jetting are used.Owner *** ******: "There are a ton of things that we could use to remove the roots but in this case it wouldn't be cost effective."My response: For whom? For YOU because it wouldn't enable you to take even MORE money from customers?Owner *** ******: "faking outage [sic]"My response: Nothing fake about it, Mr. ******* How would you feel if a (presumed) professional took $750 out of your pocket and his "solution" failed the next day?

The pipe is broken.  We did not continue to run our equipment because it could damage the equipment and our tech.  The sewer line has roots.  We have provided everything we said we were going to do.  We are not responsible for the sewer line being broken.  It needs to be repaired of the issue will continue.  We also included the video where the line was clear but it has roots grown in to the broken pipe.

I am rejecting this response because:

That roots encroached upon the pipe was obvious in the still image I originally included. You can call that "broken" but that is no excuse to take a customer's money then fail to perform that for which the plumber was hired. Indeed, another firm, Zoom Drain, using a similar set of tools as Panther (and charging a comparable price), completed the job without excavation or pipe-parts replacement, proving it in their own video, and we've had no problem since. That Panther would take our funds and essentially use it to pitch an unneeded job over 6 times the price is unethical.

For the 71 second video of the same pipe cleared by a professional plumbing firm that actually does was its paid to do (unlike Mr. ******** Panther), see here:

When I called this company fir an appointment, I did tell them I needed A Licensed Journey or Master Plumber to give estimate for a repipe repair job by **************** I explained there were several giolarions and the job did not pass inspection.I told the person I beeded someone licensed by the state and familiar with codes. I asked that if she couldn't give an appointment with a licensed journey or master plumber, I would move on. She assured me the person who she scheduled, would be licensed journeyman. The appointment was scheduled for Jan.17,2023after informing me of $65 Fee .On Jan.17th, ************************* came and rhe first thing I did was ask if he were a licensed journeyman and he said yes. He proceeded to inspect and asked for payment of $65.00 which i paid with a credit card. He stated he would email the estimate.Having waited a couple of days and not receiving estimate, I emailed him. I asked that he send some license verification as I couldn't find it on the Secretary of State License verification site. There was no license under his name. I called the credit card company and told them this company acted fraudulently. Even though I specifically asked a licensed journeyman or master plumber, they knowingly sent out someone who did not quality as per my request just to get a fee. The credit card rep stated I should send an email to the company; not just the estimator they sent. I did as she suggested and that's when they sent a quick estimate listing some of the repairs without any mention of ******'s license verification . My last wmail asked thatcthey refund my payment if they could not verify his license as a Licensed journeyman. I was told someone would call back and there has been no response. When I called

We apologize and will be refunding the money and offering a gift card.  We employee many licensed plumbers and should have sent one out.
