I recently received two letters of invitation in the mail at my residence: one addressed to "*** PO" and the other to "**** ***". Of course, these seemed immediately suspicious, so I opened them to see what exactly they were about. Imagine my surprise when I was informed that based on "outstanding academic achievement" at their schools, my kids had been chosen "by invitation only" to be recognized for their "dedication to excellence"...I only needed to fill out the enclosed form and include $90.00 for them to join this prestigious organization. HA!My kids, only one of whom is even in high school (and not even through the first grading period), will just have to miss out on this incredible opportunity for recognition. What a joke. A waste of paper, money, and time. The epitome of a scam.

Dear Ms. ******************************* you are doing well. I would like to follow up on your one star BBB review on Wednesday 11/13/24 and our emails to you on Friday 11/15/24 and Monday 11/18/24.
After a thorough investigation, we discovered that two separate profiles were created on the scholarships website of our educational partner, under the emails *************************** and *************************************. These accounts were associated with valid email addresses and mailing address and opted in to receive information about scholarships and educational opportunities. Based on this information, our system processed the invitations correctly. Please verify if you or someone in your household owns these two email addresses.
Please note that while we have filters in place to detect inaccurate or fraudulent information, we cannot identify when end users knowingly create multiple profiles with valid details. In this case, it appears that the profiles were created intentionally, possibly by individuals associated with your household, although with false first name, last name, and GPA score.
We regret that you felt the need to escalate this matter through the BBB before contacting us directly. We value open communication and are committed to resolving any issues promptly. An email was sent to you on Friday, November 15, and another follow up email again on Monday, November 18 to explain the situation and offer further assistance, but we have not yet received a response.

5 starsThis organization allows high school students to be awards for their academic achievements while helping better their future. By offering this students scholarships internships, and more. They have online courses focusing on workforce development, employment, and training. With joining there is a fee that pays off in the long run joining we one of the best decision of my life. 5 starsI love NSHSS because it pushes me to be more than I think I can be. Getting to meet new people who are just like me, and trying to make it in life is truly a great experience. I signed up for a membership on July 31, 2024. My child's school says they will not honor it and it's practically useless. I called for a refund on August 1, 2024, and the rep stated I would receive a refund within 3 days. I called again today to get an updated status of my refund, and the rep advised it was issued on yesterday August 5, 2024. I have not received anything nor does it show pending in my account. Hi *****,As our published graduation policy states "We encourage you to check with the Graduation Coordinator at your school before purchasing any graduation merchandise to wear at graduation. If you need to return graduation items, it must be within thirty (30) days of purchase and in the same condition it was received for a refund or an exchange."This is also noted on the same page as the graduation regalia as a reminder prior to ordering since some schools are uniformed in terms of what they will allow students to wear during the graduation ceremonies.You accepted your son's invitation on July 30 and requested a refund on the evening of July 31; you were told that the refund would be processed within three (3) business days. Your refund for the one-time, lifetime membership fee of $90 was processed on August 5 (3 business days). You called on August 6 and requested a refund receipt in which you were emailed the same day, so there is closure there.We regret that your son wasn't able to wear his honor medallion but more importantly regret that he wasn't able to enjoy the lifetime benefits of his membership. We are so much more than our graduation regalia.Lastly, in terms of your scam statement, and at your convenience, please review this great and factual information about NSHSS and how our amazing members and families are enjoying their membership, ***************************************************************************. Hi ******,Congratulations on being selected for membership, and more importantly, for becoming a member on August 4 (Sunday).You requested a refund on August 5, and the refund was issued on August 6 for the one-time, lifetime membership fee of $90, so there is closure, and your membership has been disabled.In terms of your scam statement, there is no other experience than the actual experience of an NSHSS member which is why you have sixty (60) days to make an informed decision in terms of fit, before requesting a refund. Unfortunately, you didn't give us that opportunity, but our active members and families are enjoying the benefits of their membership, and we keep them very engaged from the unique scholarship offerings, Free webinars and virtual events as it relates to preparing for the next chapter of your educational journey beyond high school. There are leadership programs for further growth and development, internships and in-person member events where our members are recognized for their academic accomplishments. When in a community of hundreds of others aspirational individuals, networking is guaranteed and forming connections is inevitable. The environment is not only educational but inspiring. The organization has provided many scholarships, educational webinars, member events, and networking opportunities with students from all around the globe.
