My ********************************* playing volleyball for the first time. I wanted to sign him up for a local boys team for his age group. I was told one was available and that tryouts would be October 7th. I did not want a travel team and needed something local. I was told that my son would make the team because there were not enough boys trying out. This made me question if they just needed a player and money? After the tryouts and after we signed the contract, we were told that there may not be enough boys of his age group and that some of the games would be with older boys. We soon realized there would never be a team for his age group and skill level. We were also told that there might be a tournament outside of ******* due to the lack of games in the local area. When the schedule was announced, there were two tournaments out of state. After two weeks of practice, I started to realize that my son was not prepared to be on this team. I brought this up to *********************, the owner, and he assured me everything was fine. It was becoming evident that Fury Volleyball was more about "Cash over Kids". They needed a player on the team and the money that goes with it. They put someone on the team that wasn't qualified and not at the maturity level of the older boys. Several times, my son would get depressed or embarrassed and not want to engage with the team. The coaches either let him stay to the side, keep score or practice on his own - something even the owner acknowledged seeing. I encouraged my son to stay with volleyball but in the end, going to Fury Volleyball created too much anxiety and embarrassment. He no longer enjoyed being in their facility and was not comfortable there. I brought this up to *********************, the owner and he disagreed on every point I stated. In the end, it became clear that my son never should have been put on this team, within this age group and at that skill level. We were 100% misled. Fury Volleyball represents "Profits over People".
