    BBB opened its file on Sautee Wood Works in March 2008. According to the company's website: http://www.SauteeWoodWorks.com. "A little bit about the owner, I build 19th Century Real Wood Furniture & Accessories from re-claimed Pine, Black Walnut, Maple, Hickory, Oak, Sweetgum and Cherry. All orders are custom made." This is a business which sells his products online.

    BBB has noticed a pattern of complaints in the past year with Sautee Wood Works. Consumers allege they ordered specialized wood products, via the seller's store front on etsy.com. They further allege that they were advised by the seller, at the time of the order, that lead time would be 12 - 16 weeks. Consumers allege that they have been unable to get a firm shipping date. Complaints state that each time a date was requested, the seller would assure consumers that the item would ship within a month. Consumers also allege that it has taken almost a year to (1) receive their item and/or (2) the seller has not responded to messages as to why their item did not ship within the time frame when order was placed. According to complaints, consumers have spent up to $750 without receiving their selected items.

    In response to complaints forwarded by BBB to the company, the owner states he has suffered losses in his family as well as his own health problems. The owner stated "that these circumstances are beyond his control but I want to assure you that I am back in the shop now about 4-5 hours every day working on catching up. " He has further indicated that the etsy store has been closed in order for him to get caught up on previously ordered items.
