I had a credit card with Jasper Credit Card. The credit card emailed me and said that they are discontinuing the card. They said that I need to continue to make the payments until it is paid off. I have been making payments for about a year. It seems like I should be paid off but they continue to take monthly payments from me. I try to contact them by phone and email. the phone has been disconnected. The email address is not valid. Every way I try to contact them to find out my balance fails. I don't want to send them any more money. What do I doInitial Complaint

Dear ***********************,
Jasper is in receipt of your complaint relative to a WebBank/Jasper credit card. The complaint was received by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) on March 07, 2023, and forwarded to Jasper by the BBB on March 07, 2023. The BBB has asked us to provide you with our response to your complaint.
WebBank is the credit issuer for the WebBank/Jasper Mastercard. Jasper is the banks servicer for the WebBank/Jasper Card Account. Jasper Card accounts are general-purpose credit cards issued to consumers.
In your complaint, you state:The company is reporting a 30 day last payment to my credit report for $5! I have reached out numerous times and non one [sic] can show me when there was a $5 payment that was over 30 days late. I want this removed from my credit report.
Your complaint includes the following desired settlement:
Correction to a credit report
On March 03, 2023, you reached out to Jasper with your concern regarding a $5 late payment which was showing as a past due amount reporting on at least one of your consumer credit reports from a Major Credit Bureau.
After multiple emails between you and Jasper, your concern was escalated to a Customer Support Manager, whom on March 07, 2023, sent you a debt validation email that noted that noted:Your November statement was issued on December 1, 2022, with a balance of $861.64. Interest charged was $13.25. The minimum amount due on the statement was $31. We received a payment attempt on the following date: December 23, 2022, for $31 - This payment was returned as Non-sufficient Funds (NSF) and therefore did not post.
Your December statement was issued on January 1, 2023, with a balance of $902.76. Interest charged was $14.12. The minimum amount due on the statement was $91. Because no payment was received for the previous statement, a $27 late payment fee was applied. We received a payment, from your account ending in ****, on the following date: January 6, 2023, for $31
??The $27 late payment fee was reversed on January 6, 2023, per your request.Your January statement was issued on February 1, 2023, with a balance of $885.98. Interest charged was $14.26. Because the previous payment did not meet the minimum requirement, a $27 late payment fee was applied. The minimum amount due on the statement was $64.96 We received a payment attempt, from your account ending in ****, on the following date: January 23, 2022, for $885.98 - This payment was reversed, per your request via telephone to a Jasper customer support agent, and therefore did not post. Also, per your request, the $27 returned payment fee that was automatically triggered was reversed.
Total late fees applied were $0 as they were all reversed. However, the account does still report as late to the three Major Credit Bureaus. The amount that was past due each month is below:
In December, your Past Due amount was $31
In January, your Past Due amount was $32.96
In February, your Past Due amount is $37.93
Each months Past Due amount is included in the subsequent months Minimum Amount Due, which is listed on your statements, and accessible via the Jasper mobile application.
Jasper maintains that we are indeed reporting correct and timely account information to all three major Credit Bureaus, as per the provisions set in the Fair Credit Reporting Act. As such, we consider this matter closed.
Sincerely,

Whereas I of age, of majority, give this herein notice to all, I make solemn oath to the one and only most high of creation only, whoever that maybe, and I depose the following facts, so be it, now present:
It is a Fact that affiant is the only natural person with firsthand competent knowledge of the facts of this transaction.
It is a Fact that ***************** is defined as a federal corporation pursuant 28 U.S.C **** #**A, which makes me a consumer of *****************.
It is a Fact Pursuant ** USC ****a (3) The term consumer means any natural person obligated or allegedly obligated to pay any debt. I **** ********************* am the consumer.
It is a Factis inviolation Pursuant ** USC ****a(4)The term creditor means any person who offers or extends credit creating a debt or to whom a debt is owed, but such term does not include any person to the extent that he receives an assignment or transfer of a debt in default solely for the purpose of facilitating collection of such debt for another. I **** *********************, am the original creditor, all others after me are fraudulent and misleading and are considered 3rd party.
It is a Fact that affiant is a consumer as defined in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act specifically ** U.S.C **** a (3) because affiant is a natural person.
It is a Fact Pursuant 18 USC 8, my birth certificate belongs to ***************** Corporation, but not me as a living natural person. Iam a consumer of *****************. Pursuant The term credit card means any card, plate, coupon book or other credit device existing for the purpose of obtaining money, property, labor, or services on credit.
It is a Fact is in violation Pursuant ** USC ****(j) The terms open end credit plan and open end consumer credit plan mean a plan under which the creditor reasonably contemplates repeated transactions, which prescribes the terms of such transactions, and which provides for a finance charge which may be computed from time to time on the outstanding unpaid balance. A credit plan or open end consumer credit plan which is an open end credit plan or open end consumer credit plan within the meaning of the preceding sentence is an open end credit plan or open end consumer credit plan even if credit information is verified from time to time. After ****, the government agreed to assume all liabilities that arise under transactions using your credit card; which is my Social Security Card, pursuant to 18 U.S.C 8.
It is a Fact, I *************************, am the original creditor, all others after me are fraudulent and misleading and are considered 3rd party, is in violationpursuant ** U.S.C **** a (4).
It is a Fact My social security card is considered a credit card, and it is connected to an account at the federal reserve/gov. and trust, that has millions and millions of dollars on my behalf and the alleged creditor used my social security number to fund the consumer credit transactions (such as applying for a credit card/loan/financing) and made me think they loaned it to me. But any transaction Ive done has already been approved and paid for. I cant be in the negative, its impossible to pay on a positive balance. There is already insurance on me from the government when we have alleged debt, once a credit application is ran through the system and whether approved or denied or a default, the company gets paidI already satisfied loan/leasing/financing and/or credit card eligibility and the maximum loan/credit amount I can receive is uncapped and has not yet been reached because its paid through the federal reserve. My social security card is a credit card, Iam the original creditor. With this being true Iam deferring the obligation back to *****************. Pursuant 18 USC 8, as a consumer of ***************** you cannot defer the loan/credit card/finance charge balance back to me. did not disclose this to me, this is deceitful, is in violation.
It is a Fact the role of a bank is not to extend credit or loans. Banks are BORROWERS; extenders of credit, they are elaborate mechanisms, and is in violation oftheConsumer Credit Protection Act and the Truth in Lending Act Pursuant ** U.S.C ****(g) The term creditor refers only to a person who both (1) regularly extends, whether in connection with loans, sales of property or services, or otherwise, consumer credit which is payable by agreement in more than four installments or for which the payment of a finance charge is or may be required, and (2) is the person to whom the debt arising from the consumer credit transaction is initially payable on the face of the evidence of indebtedness or, if there is no such evidence of indebtedness, by agreement. Notwithstanding the preceding sentence, in the case of an open-end credit plan involving a credit card, the card issuer and any person who honors the credit card and offers a discount which is a finance charge are creditors. For the purpose of the requirements imposed under part D of this subchapter and sections 1637(a)(5), 1637(a)(6), 1637(a)(7), 1637(b)(1), 1637(b)(2), 1637(b)(3), 1637(b)(8), and 1637(b)(10) of this title, the term creditorshall also include card issuers whether or not the amount due is payable by agreement in more than four installments or the payment of a finance charge is or may be required, and the bureau shall, by regulation, apply these requirements to such card issuers, to the extent appropriate, even though the requirements are by their terms applicable only to creditors offering open-end credit plans. Any person who originates 2 or more mortgages referred to in subsection (aa) in any 12-month period or any person who originates 1 or more such mortgages through a mortgage broker shall be considered to be a creditor for purposes of this subchapter. The term creditorincludes a private educational lender (as that term is defined in section **** of this title) for purposes of this subchapter.
It is a Fact is in violationPursuant to ** U.S Code **** (d) Consumer reports means any written, oral or other communication of any information by a consumer reporting agency bearing on a consumers credit worthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or collected in whole or in part for the purpose of serving as a factor in establishing the consumers for
(A) credit or insurance to be use primarily for personal, family or household purposes.
(B) employment purposes; or
(C) any other purpose authorized under section **** b of this title.
Talking/ oral communication is a consumer report.
It is a Fact not one of the credit reporting bureaus are actual government entities/agencies, credit bureaus like Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian arent owned, managed, or otherwise controlled by the federal government pursuant ** U.S.C ****(d). At a fundamental level, all credit bureaus operate as private, for-profit companies.
It is a Fact is in violationPursuant to ** U.S Code **** (3) Consumer reporting agencies have assumed a vital role in assembling and evaluating consumer credit and other information on consumers. The three main credit reporting bureaus have assumed the vital role of speaking for me, and about me. I assume the vital role over my life and Im going to give you an oral report about What Im going to do with my credit. Im giving an oral report pursuant of ** U.S Code **** #3, pursuant of federal law.
It is a Fact that and all of the credit reporting bureaus are in violationof what has been reported on my credit report and the following subsection of the ***** ** USC ****. I want to make it clear to and the credit reporting agencies, and those in the position of authority that congress makes it clear that the banking system is dependent upon my consumer reports being fair and accurate to me. Pursuant to ** USC ****(a)(1). Pursuant to ** USC ****(a)(2)congress made it clear that these credit reporting bureaus are elaborate mechanisms with no real standing and authority.
It is a Fact is in violationPursuant to ** USC ****(a)(3) these credit reporting agencies were not given this role. They assumed this vital role and because of their assumption it has negatively affected my life and those around me especially during the pandemic, causing me severe hardship, mental anguish, anxiety and depression. Because of them assuming this vital role it makes my life so much harder, look how difficult it is to get a loan or grants due to incorrect, unauthorized, fraudulent, and illegal reporting on my credit report. The FCRA Fair Credit Reporting Act never mentions a denial of credit, only being denied for insurance or employment.
It is a Fact Pursuant to ** USC ****(a)(4) the credit reporting bureaus were unfair in reporting this erroneous information without consulting with me the consumer. They have no proof that those transactions ever took place. They were also impartial because they allowed information to be reported while only hearing one side of the story. They also infringed upon my rights to privacy by having a conversation orally about me to third parties and reporting this info as a result of that third party I am demanding that this information be removed as soon as possible from all credit reporting agencies/bureaus, and Ive already notified them. Pursuant to ****(a)(b) the credit bureaus did not meet the needs of commerce because this was not fair and equitable to me. This info is not accurate, nor is it relevant, but false info not properly utilized in a manner that was unfair an equitable to me. These transactions on my credit report shouldve been confidential, so in fact and the credit bureaus have betrayed my confidence. This is a violation of **** a (d)(2)(A)(i)
It is a Fact is in violationpursuant ** **** U.S.C f &p both state credit is my RIGHT and I cant be denied a right. The term creditor, states someone who regularly extends credit and credit is the RIGHT, granted by a natural person meaning Im the original creditor!
It is a Fact that company procedure does not supersede federal law. Is in direct violationof my rights as a consumer ** U.S.C ****(f) tells me credit is my right. I cannot be denied a RIGHT. ** U.S.C **** makes it clear that you committed fraud and used my credit card without authority, and I received no benefit. ** U.S.C ****(a)(3) makes it clear I cannot be discriminated against for exercising my rights.
It is a Fact that is in violationof ** U.S.C 1691(a) Equal Credit Opportunity Act, it shall be unlawful for any creditor to discriminate against any applicant with respect to any aspect of a credit transaction. It is illegal to base off credit, it leads to discrimination and misrepresentation.
It is a Fact that Im exercising my rights under any/all of these chapters, I CANNOT be discriminated against; discriminated against me whether willfully or knowingly, this is a violation.

The decision to close a credit card program is never an easy one, and not one that was made lightly.
On October 1, 2022, Jasper received an email from you with the following message:
Hello,
I see that my account has been cancelled. I am no longer able to make the required payments. Is there some type of assistance available before I turn this over to credit account negotiations.
Thank you,
***********************
On October 3, 2022, Jasper replied with a message that payments can still be made via the Jasper mobile app of via check or money order. Currently there is not a program in place to assist those who cannot make their minimum payment.
On October 3, 2022, Jasper received a reply to the above email with the following:
Thank you for your response. If this is the standard answer to my request, then I have been given no choice but to launch a negative social media campaign against Jasper effective immediately. This will cause a definite financial impact to your company.

Im afraid that this will have a huge impact on my credit score and Im needing information on how this will effect [sic]my score/ how Im viewed when applying for credit. Ive been working very hard to build my score up this year and I dont want to be effected [sic]by this companys short comings. Please help me!
The decision to close a credit card program is never an easy one, and not one that was made lightly.
Jasper is continuing to adhere to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and actively, and accurately, reporting your account balance, payment history, and other applicable information.
Note that (A) you remain responsible for paying any amounts owed on your Jasper credit card, and that (B) payments can still be made via the Jasper mobile app or via check or money order. As stated above, this information is still being reported to the Bureaus.
Regarding your concerns on how this will affect your Consumer Credit Score with the Bureaus, Credit Scores are impacted by a variety of factors, and we are unable to determine what impact this may have on your individual credit score. If you have questions about how your credit score may be impacted, we encourage you to contact the credit reporting agencies directly.

I would like to know will my account be reported to the credit bureau as closed? Im not understanding how Jasper will still report to the credit bureau on an account that is closed. Also, has the credit bureau been made aware that the accounts are being closed due to the lenders?Business Response

Dear ***************************,
Jasper is in receipt of your complaint response rebuttal relative to a WebBank/Jasper credit card. The rebuttal was received by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) on August 15, 2022, and forwarded to Jasper by the BBB on August 15, 2022.
In your rebuttal, you state:I would like to know will my account be reported to the credit bureau as closed? Im not understanding how Jasper will still report to the credit bureau on an account that is closed. Also, has the credit bureau been made aware that the accounts are being closed due to the lenders?
Your account will be reported as Closed by Issuer beginning the end of August 2022 the first month Jasper will report that the program is closed to the three Major Credit Bureaus.
When an account is Closed by Issuer, the balance on the account, payments made on the account, and whether the account is current or past due are all still reported, which is why it is important to continue to make payments on or before the due date each month.
We hope this clarifies your concerns, and again, we thank you for being a part of the JasperCard journey.
Sincerely,
