On 05/11/2022, I took my 2016 Chevrolet Silverado with ******* miles to this Aamco after experiencing total transmission failure (vehicle would not go in to gear/drive). The location manager, *****, recommended rebuilding the transmission & gave me three different prices based on the warranty purchased with the rebuild. I chose the 2yr/20k mile warranty for $5435.07. After getting the truck back, I immediately noticed it now hesitated with *******'s, changed gears very roughly and shuddered after changing gears. I informed ***** of this, who advised the truck may need a tune-up. After getting said tune-up at ******* miles, I noticed the problems had not gotten any better. By time I reached ******* miles, I returned the truck to this Aamco due to having the same problems. After keeping the vehicle two days, ***** advised me there is nothing wrong with the transmission and the problem is with the engine management system and a misfiring cylinder. I then reached out to the dealer where I bought the truck, *********************************************; who had the truck towed from my home to their dealership for inspection at ******* miles. I was then notified that the problem was in fact with the transmission as metal was found in the drain pan and the torque converter had failed; thus requiring a new transmission. Given the limited miles driven after the last inspection at this Aamco, it is more likely than not the same problems existed but were not reported to me during this inspection. When asked about this, ***** advised me he was not taking the word of "some po-dunk dealership, in the middle of nowhere, that doesn't know what they're doing." After informing ***** I'm inclined to believe he doesn't want to honor this warranty due to his repeated deflection of the problem and failure to bring said issues to my attention during my last visit, ***** became irate stating if I believe that, this conversation is over and proceeded to hang up on me, leaving the issue unresolved.
