    Friday, August 23, 2024, my husband spoke with ***** at the Shelter about Scooter, our **** ******* Terrier. Scooter was 16 yo and could not stand, breathing had slowed, and he didn't have control over his bodily functions. He had been declining in health for several months. ***** said they would euthanize him and told us to bring him in. At the Shelter, 3 ladies carried Scooter in his cage into the facility. We were asked if Scooter was an outside dog,we said yes. While taking him inside, ******* ******* told us several times we were irresponsible people. I went inside and asked her how she could say that to a grieving man who had this pet since he was 5 weeks old. She said he should have gone to a vet. I explained that we had talked to 2 or 3 Vets that morning and the dog needed to be put down. ******* said her help should not have told my husband they put animals down so I asked why did she, with no response. ******* also said we were irresponsible by leaving the dog in his cage in the sun. I told her that was on her because they don't allow pets in the lobby and she had my husband filling out paperwork for approximately ***** minutes. She told me to leave that she had other customers there. ******* was very rude and had no compassion for someone loosing their pet. We have always taken care of all our animals, especially Scooter. Because of her comments, the experience of loosing our beloved pet was double traumatizing. So unprofessional. We will never go to this animal shelter again.
