October 1, 2021- moved in, apartment was dirty, mildew on tub and mold like substance on vents. October 3, 2021- AC went out and I discovered dishwasher wasnt working. ******** said theyd fix AC but Id have to pay to have dishwasher fixed. No dishwasher maintenance was ever done. January 1, 2022- landlord informs tenant that rent will be raised by 100 dollars in April. Throughout this time, exterminators walking into my apartment during my days off from work while I was sleeping, without my permission. Carpets have got to be over 15 years old and stink badly. September 13, 2022- fire alarm in my apartment sounding, I call fire ***** fire ******** removes fire alarm and states ********************* has been warned many times that these alarms havent been legally allowed in ten years and **** continues leaving them in apartments. Alarm was not replaced by landlord. September 15, 2022- my moveout walkthrough is scheduled for 10 am. I have been cleaning the apartment all day and night in preparation. I wait an hour and call the office and they tell me they wont be able to do my walkthrough today. Im moving out of state which theyre aware of. They inform me they will do the walkthrough another time and mail me information. October 8, 2022- I received a letter from CD properties that on top of my ***** dollar security deposit, theyd also be collecting 550 additional dollars from me for items that qualify as normal wear and tear. Charging me $260 to replace blinds, $520 to fill nail holes, etc. These are wildly overpriced and landlord did not provide estimates. The issues also couldve been addressed had someone come for my walk through. I also found out from two other tenants that landlord bribed them to leave good reviews on ****** and ******** in exchange for 100 dollars off their rent. Additionally, negative reviews that have been made by others have not been posted or have been deleted from public websites like ****** and ********.

I am rejecting this response because:

Seems that the dishwasher situation couldve been ameliorated by better note taking on the businesss end as I definitely called the first day I discovered this. In the future I will make sure everything is written and Im willing to let that go since office staff never took note and the only way to verify my word is to review voicemails which I assume isnt possible.

As previously discussed with business owner, the fire alarm was not battery operated which is why it had to be removed by the fire marshal and I could not replace the battery.

Also discussed with business, Kat to be specific, was the fact that I was moving out of state for work and would not physically be able to have walkthrough after September 15th, 15 days before the end of my lease.

I paid to rent the apartment until October 1, ********************************************************************************************************* person.

Had walkthrough been done at scheduled time, all problems landlord felt needed addressing couldve been addressed.

I would encourage landlord to look into laws regarding how frequently carpet should be changed as I feel confident theirs is over a decade old and I will absolutely not take responsibility for more than normal wear and tear of the carpet.

    Sincerely,
