    In April 2024, my wife paid Jefferson Capital for a debt she owed. The representative said, " The amount you have paid went through. Now it may take up to 10 days to reflect on the credit report. If this does not happen, we will dispute the information for you. We will need to charge you $90 a month until we are able to successfully get it removed."After ten days, my wife contacted Jefferson Capital and informed them the payment was never reported and it wasn't reported to the original creditor. They tried to get her to pay them to dispute. Instead she contacted the BBB, ************************************* of ******** and sent formal letters. Finally Jefferson Capital sent her an email, but only after they REFUNDED HER THE MONEY SHE GAVE THEM FOR THE ***** The letter stated the were dropping the debt and contacting the credit bureaus to remove the debt.Since that time, Jefferson Capital has decided to go after me with the same debt. I have never had an account with the original creditor. This is a FRAUDULENT CLAIM against me. I am sending letters to the BBB, ORIGINAL CREDITOR, GOVERNOR OF ******** AND MY LOCAL REPRESENTATIVE. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN AND CHARGED WITH FRAUD
