      One of my employees called Century Fire Protection on the expired fire extinguisher mounted in the office. My employee requested information regarding how much their services would be to get the fire extinguisher up to date and whatever other services they may provide. He was never informed there would be a charge for a consult for estimate of services.Someone from Century Fire Protection came out to our office on 09-09-2024. He did a quick walk through and looked at our existing expired fire extinguisher and said that one could be easily refilled and he recommended adding more extinguishers. I asked how much this would cost, but he said the office would need to email me a quote.His visit lasted less than 5 minutes, and he did not mention any fee would be charged for this short visit.We never received a quote by email.We never received any other communication until 10-01-2024 via email.This email on 10-01-2024 attached an invoice (********) for a bill charging us $620.00!We called the company and a very rude account manager named ***** (last name?) continued to insist she told my employee the 'consult' visit would cost $620. There are no records of her ever stating this to my employee. My employee would never have scheduled this visit if he were actually told that because he is not authorized to make any such payment on behalf of the business. No employee is authorized to make any purchases at all! ***** at Century Fire Protection continued to become ***** and more upset and said she would 'adjust' the fee to $465.00 but that was the lowest she could go. Instead of helping further, she angrily hung up on me!Why would we pay anything at all when we were never advised of any fee that would be charged?How can we be charged a fee we were not made aware of? Especially an exorbitant fee of $620.00 for less than 5 minutes! We tried to ask to speak with a supervisor (*** ****) but could not get through and no one would return our calls. Please help.
