Our vehicle was involved in a auto accident 1/2/2023, minor repairs needed to the front bumper, headlight, radio, and grill. Vehicle was dropped of to JC Star Auto Works 2/2/2023 to repair the above-listed items. JC Star Auto Works refused to provide receipts, proof of milestone work completions, and could not understand State Farm's simple documentation process. Repairs were delayed due to mechanic lack of understanding, ordering the wrong parts, and lack of communication. On 7/28/2023 State Farm notified JC Star Auto Works that they would discontinue working with them and close the claim. The insurance stopped paying for the rental car and now we have paid $1000 out of pocket. As of 8/25, we arranged to pick up the vehicle with final repairs done. The repairs were not done, the left headlight doesn't function properly, the bumper was glued together (molding missing) additional damage was done during the replacement of hood, hood will not close or open properly, radio is not complete, and front bumper is not sitting properly. As of today 8/29/2023, the shop is refusing to adjust the current bill or allow us to have the vehicle looked at by ******** **** dealership and a collision repair shop for additional diagnostics and complete repair. This ordeal has caused a financial strain on us. We need assistance because we are being charged for work & parts that were unable to be completed properly.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/14/2023

This is in response to acomplaint filed by a ********************************* complaint number ********. Yes we received the 2016 ******** E350 on February 06 , 2023..The original estimate was to replace the front Bumper, right headlight, hood, an radio. The insurance request for aftermarket parts to be used. Upon dismantling we found out that their were more damages other than what was initially estimated. we waited for the insurance company 's response. Meanwhile we bought the originally stated parts with the exception of the radio which was not found at the price given. The insurance company wrote a suppliment with some adjustments but refuse to pay the price we quoted. We went back and fort with the insurance company for weeks on price differences and additional parts. from an initial $5000 + job to $12, 000+ at the end. Because of all these back and forth with the insurance company we requested some money for parts but the company stated that the payments were made directly to **************. When we contacted ************** for funds for parts all he could tell us was that he was instructed to pay at the end.. Upon completion of the job ************** hard few complaint about the job and parts which we could not purchase. We discounted every parts that was not paid for and gave him a retention of over $5000 but he wanted to take the vehicle without making any payments under the pretense that  some things did not fit correctly. When we refuse to release the vehicle, he called the police hoping it will favor him that way.  His complaint today to you is because he failed to ******* us of money due to us despite all our efforts and reimbursements. He was satisfied with the looks of the car but disappointed because he couldn't get more money for himself. ************** tried but unfortunately he failed in his plot, I hate to call him a ***** but we were paid at the end.

    Sincerely
