    On or around *****2023 I was referred to Mickey Patel by a collegue who recommended him to help me on a home remodel project I was working on behalf of my investor ** ******* ***********. We wanted to convert a storage building on the property in to a living space/studio apartment. We contracted with Mr Patel to be the GC on the project and simply advise us on the viability of the project and pull the permits for us. I asked him to advise me if the building was suitable to convert to a living space and he told me he went by the property and that it was suitable. After looking in to it further and speaking with the county building and zoning it was clearly not suitable nor viable to convert the building. We paid Mr Patel $2,500 for his services and at the time he told me he would return at least $500 since I did all the leg work on the permit process. After learning that we had been mislead by Mr Patel, I kindly asked him to return whatever portion of the $2,500 he felt was fair and keep a portion for his minimal time. I have since been unable to get him to do the right thing and return at least a portion of the money even after he stated numerous times in texts (attached) that he would and a myriad of excuses. He simply will not do what is right and what he promised to do and that is unfair and not morally or ethically sound. So here we are. I'd like some kind of resolution to this and an apology. We bargained in good faith and were clear on our intent and felt we were mislead and frankly cheated out of $2,500. I won't be doing any further business with Patel Construction and am surprised he would jeopardize his reputation and good name over such a trivial matter and small amount of money.
