I signed a contract for work with his company, we agreed that half of payment was to be paid up front & the other half of payment was to be made when completed. *****/2024 work began. We immediately saw issues with the work being done & made Dusty aware. In the beginning our bathroom was flooded twice, our shower surround was installed elevated from the bathtub itself, all of our bathroom fixtures were installed misaligned, the shower plumbing wasn't installed correctly, there was never any drainage installed for the bathtub, & so much more. Dusty came out on day 4 for final payment because he estimated that the job was going to be done in 5 days. I was naive to believe him. From then on it was constantly hearing it's going to get done tomorrow, by Friday, Monday, it'll get done this week, I'll be there first thing in the morning (then no one shows or no one calls/texts/reached out to let us know they aren't coming). Even as I'm writing this he said he'd be here and he's not. I have call logs and text messages to show how we've tried to reach out to him and constantly track him down and we receive little to no response. Meanwhile consistently finding more issues with work being done (I have pictures and videos). I've personally asked him for his license information because he has it advertised licensed & insured and he avoided giving his license and only provided his insurance company. For nearly 8 weeks we've been told work would be complete and there's no end in sight. I finally told him that I was going to dispute final payment then he started threatening that it would cost me more if I disputed because it was going to cost him in payroll fees, etc. I told him it was not my problem, he wasn't supposed to have final payment until the work was completed per our contract/initial agreement. He still insisted that it was going to cost me if I disputed. All we want is for the work to be done, his license information, & for him and his business gone without any threats.Business Response

Alot of this is inaccurate info far as the picture above that was all fixed the job was 99% done and she started acting out when came after saying we was going to ***** well be right back we come back were told to leave so we did when she asked is to come back I explained to her that we are off now it was a fri we did we had gotten a back shark bit and I explained that happens getting bad parts sometimes bought another one and was going to take back to she asked us to leave and all that is left on this job is maybe 15 ft of ¼rounds and baseboard replace sharkbit and put up shelves less then a half days work and she wants her money back at the end of the job don't sound very fair

I am rejecting this response because:Just about everything I’ve heard coming from Dusty is a lie. Dusty said he’d be by first thing in the morning again, didn’t show in the morning per usual. Showed up to “fix” our running toilet and still couldn’t manage to do that. Said he’d be back in the afternoon. I always ask what time he’s going to come to the house and he never gives a time. He just showed up with no notice 30 minutes before I had to leave to get my daughter. Then when I reached out to let him know I was back at the house he said he’s gone for the day and he all of the sudden doesn’t work past noon on Fridays (to which he rarely even shows up at my before noon ever). When we argued over the phone about the work still not being done we got on the topic about his license for the 3rd time since this project started. He told me to ****** it and the conversation on the phone eventually led him to hanging up on me. I was at my wits end and started looking up Georgia state law. He finally admitted after several text messages that he is not even licensed to do the remodel work he portrayed he was capable to take on. He finally admitted he was a handyman to which in Georgia he is not allowed to take on work more than $2500. I have already started notifying state agencies about him and his business. I did in fact tell him that he has no right to payment (again per state law) and that our contract was unenforceable. Especially since we are now going to have to hire people to fix the mess of a bathroom remodel he created.

Only thing left on her job was some base board and shelves we left to get materials and came back to Finnish and she told us to leave and that all these things she claims that are messed up is false bc we fixed it this harresment towards and saying untrue stuff is defamation we had 2 hrs of work left and you didn't want us to Finnish. I purchased materials that I didn't get back bc this dad a labor job only and she knows her bathroom was 99.5 %done so I suggest you find a new Hobbie other this harresment towards me or reviews speck for them selves and don't ever call me a lier again bc that's 1 thing I'm not hog keep this up in going to get the law involvedCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
This is the second time Dusty has used the statement of harassment towards me making reviews, and now towards making a BBB complaint. I am allowed to leave reviews and complaints about my experience with his business. I certainly have not uploaded every single image or video I have of things like the flooring being installed without self leveler (despite us speaking about self leveler several times beforehand) and subsequently having floorboards that separated when stepping on them, only for his response to be - you weren’t going to be standing there. I have plenty more instances like this through the 9 weeks with Dusty’s Home Improvements LLC before we finally were able to get a company capable of giving us an actual functioning bathroom in 2 days time. Unlike my experience with his business, everything was done correctly the first time. I could add more examples about the quality of work done on our bathroom to include all that had to be redone to go against statements like the work being 99% done. Yes, I did ask him to leave at week 9 because I finally stood my ground after several other attempts to get his license information from him & was given different responses like he couldn’t be on ****** without a license, or that he has to go look for it in his office, or it may have been lost in the move, ultimately to state that he does not have a general contractors license. This is not a hobby, this is a BBB complaint.Business Response

We hadn't use the self leval yet buy I still have it we had just cut everything and put in place we wasn't done. I had to point out how ridiculous it was to install the flooring without the self leveler to begin with. I certainly have time to leave reviews for other people so they are aware of the horrible experience we had with your business. The fact that mine and my husband’s ******** pages were blocked before we could even leave reviews, or my reviews on sites being blocked or taken down is out of my control. I’ll repeat, I am leaving a BBB complaint and making reviews about this business experience, which I am allowed to do. Responding is your choice just like I have the opportunity to make responses. It’s been said that the job was almost done yet again, I had to hire a new company to fix the quality of work originally done to my bathroom. They had to reinstall the tub and surround that was not installed properly as well as fix the drainage that was 1. originally never installed which was one of the major issues after hiring Dusty and 2. when Dusty did get someone else to come install the drainage it was still done wrong so it had to get redone. Also, I’ve pointed out to Dusty and we also discussed how the flooring did not align with the tub and he attempted to reassure us that the tub was not installed wrong and that he just had to get 3/4 round to go along the tub to hide the gap, and then he said the 3/4 round wasn’t quite covering the gap between the tub and flooring so he was just going to plan on adding a little bit more flooring. It’s interesting though how the new company I hired reinstalled the tub and surround and is aligned with the flooring just fine. I lost money from hiring Dusty’s Home Improvements LLC to begin with because that was a huge mistake.Business Response

Date of the transaction was on January **** I cash app him 350 for deposit on getting my cabinets redid he was supposed to go ahead and ordered the materials but he haven't. I have talk to him on numerous of times he can't provide me a tracking number and said that he will refund me my money back but today he still haven't did that and I have text messages stating that he said he will refund by lunch time on Jan 31st but he still have not and I told him I will be taking legal action his response was I will be wasting my time..Customer Answer

She was paid back today I couldn't get In contact with her for a few weeks I even sent my call log and proved that to her so 3 days ago I told her I was doing to refund her by law I have 10 days to refund her she had been really nasty towards me demanding her money right now and harnessing me when they mentioned where they have taking may people to court I had to back out I won't work for anyone that always taking someone to court anyways long story short she has been paid and this needs to be taken care of especially when law stats I have 10 day to refund and its only been 3Customer Answer
