I wish I could give this company a 0! My AHS home warranty offers a free A/C tune up for one unit and I paid AHS $100 for the other unit because I have two units. AHS referred Piedmont who came out on yesterday Monday 4/3. Nothing is wrong with either of them, I only wanted my routine maint check up done. The tech was here for all of about 1 minute. He asked where my thermostats were located and showed him both down/upstairs & where the two units were outside. He went outside for 30 seconds came back stating the unit on the right is a little low on freon. I would have to place a separate w/o for someone to come back & put freon in the unit. (My warranty has unlimited freon at no add cost. I just pay the deductible.)He never checked the filters to see if they were dirty, he never went in the attic to check anything, coils, plugs, evaporator coils, condensor, capacitor, contacts, or anything. Every company who has ever done a regular tune up, checked everything and provided a full report before leaving. I received nothing! They weren't here long enough to check anything. I told AHS to refund my $100 and I have already scheduled with another company. They showed me who they were. (I wish I had read reviews beforehand because I would've asked for a different company from the start.) After speaking with ***** @ Piedmont, I can see why this company is horrible and not trying to change. I only hear excuses but no resolution or effort to make things right. She said he couldn't fully check the system because he found the system needed Freon and he could damage my system if he continued the ** check. So that prevented him from checking anything else. That is BS all day! Every single company I've had do a regular ** tune up were able to complete the check up after finding a Freon issue. The customer service from the top down is abysmal. Crisis averted big time after reading these reviews. AHS can never send this company to my house EVER again for anything!

We had a contractor come to our home this morning to replace a board in our communicating furnace, and the job wasnt completed! The man left without confirming the heat is working properly, and after contacting their customer representatives, my wife and I were hung up on three times. Once by a woman named *****, and twice by a woman named *******! They were disrespectful and unprofessional to a degree you couldnt even imagine. They were sent by American Home Shield, and I strongly recommend to decline their services and request another company. Id rather have ********* come and fix our furnace over them, totally disrespectful and unprofessional! ***** and *******, you two are trash and Piedmont Mechanical Contractors is suffering with you two handling client/customer issues. Not to mention the lackadaisical effort and assurance in their work! Disrespectfully,Two unhappy customers

Do NOT use this company for any work. They were assigned by American Home Shield to repair our heater. When the part, finally, came in they called to schedule but insisted we pay our portion of $ ******* upfront. When I asked why I was paying for services yet to be rendered they rudely stated that "the owner requires payment upfront" before scheduling service. I responded as rudely that I didn't feel that was fair and offered 1/2 upfront. They refused. Since I didn't want to wait another week to get someone else out to the house and another week to wait for the part I agreed and gave them my cc. (on a Friday) 29 degree weather all weekend and they scheduled us for Monday. Didn't call, didn't show. I finally called only to be told.....we won't service you and they hung up on me. I actually think they did me a favor. I have another company coming out tomorrow (not days and days later). Do NOT agree to use this company. RUDE and unscrupulous. BTW I wish there was a zero rating. Read their reviews and look at their 1.73/5 rating.....speaks volumes.

re in accordance to their warranty. As a subcontractor, we can only repair or place that which we have authorization for, and we must bill what is not covered by the warranty. This often leads to frustration by homeowners who wrongfully think that they will owe nothing while receiving a new hvac system from their warranty company. We then receive the negative reviews and abuse toward our staff simply for following what is outlined by their policy. Because many customers have in the past refused to pay for services after the completion of a job, we now must take payment up front since many dont feel they should have to pay in the first place. In the case of this particular customer, they told us that they would simply contact their credit card provider and cancel the charge once we were finished with the job. Based on this customers terrible treatment toward our staff, and the admission that they would have the charge reversed, we make the decision to not move forward with the repair.

This company is a fraudulent company. They were assigned by American Home Shield (***) to repair my Air-conditioning unit. They repaired my unit for a leak and refilled 12 pounds of Freon. Within less than 6 weeks, my unit stopped working again. They came back and said they found a different leak, and asked me to pay again for the 12 pounds of ***** once again. They took no ownership for the mistake in diagnosing the original problem. As per the *** contract if the recall period is more than a month, customer has to pay again for the services. Where is the warranty for the work being performed? Isn't there a standard warranty period for services? Any vendor will provide at least a minimum of 90 day warranty for their work. *** took no ownership to resolve the issue. Both *** and Piedmont Mechanical Contractors should be audited for their business practices and consumers such as myself should be provided justice! Sincerely Ravi D

We are contracted by your home warranty and work by their guidelines. Your contract states you have a 30 day recall period and you are outside that period. This leak has nothing to do with the repair that was made last time this is a new issue. Piedmont has not done anything fraudulent a leak can occur at anytime as I told you on the phone.

I have requested Piedmont to thoroughly check the unit the last time they came to fix it. Their engineer has not done a proper job in identifying the issue with the evaporator coil. I have insisted that they should make sure there are no other issues before filling 14 lbs of Freon. Within less than 6 weeks, the entire Freon is gone again. How can there be another leak in less than 6 weeks? What type of expertise do they provide? They have not taken ownership for the mistake they made, and shamelessly they asked me to pay again for the 14 lbs of *****. This is fraud in the day light. Period.

Wow, just read all the bad reviews. My experience was good. I had an AHS contractor out to look at my AC. It was stopping intermittently, but was working when the tech arrived, so he said there is nothing AHS would approve. I requested a 2nd opinion and this time video'd an instance when the thermostat was on but the outside condensing unit was not running. Piedmont was the dispatched 2nd opinion contractor, scheduled a visit within 2 days (yes, all by text). I called to ask about the situation and a gentleman said the video may be helpful, but he really couldn't say what the result will be. The tech arrived on time and quickly diagnosed and replaced the capacitor. He seemed like an experienced tech, so maybe we just got lucky base on other reviews, but it all worked out very well.

Company is horrible. They were referred to us by American Home Shield. They do not respond via telephone. It states on their message when you call...they open at 8am. The phone just rings. It is only by text and yet that is still delayed. The technician came and diagnosed the problem but quickly left after stating he could only fix the problem if I worked with him directly. Mind you... I do not have A/C. He was trying to tell me how the warranty worked, but I was telling him that I could get them on the phone to approve/deny and then we can take it from there. By the time I called AHS, they had already partially approved the work order. So then I try getting in touch with Peidmont Mechanical Contractors.... After 1 hour of getting no response on the phone when trying to arrange the repair they FINALLY texted me that the claim was denied and they can not fix it today. I go back and forth through text letting them know what their technician said and that I need AC right now. Finally got the cost of repair, but finally decided to call someone else, especially with the lack of responsiveness. I have called another company who will fix today!
