On 4 Feb 2022, we signed a contract with Fences by **** for the installation of a fence. The job was not completed until 29 Mar. During the installation process, there was a concern about 3-4" gaps around the installed fence, to which I complained about via text on 22 and 23 Mar. **** called it "a little unreasonable" that I requested they be closed up because we were getting a puppy and our original intention for getting a fence was to have it closed off so the dog could not get out. It was unreasonable at all! He eventually agreed to fixing it. On 28 Mar, **** messaged me, asking me to check the setting of the fence before he "drilled a hole on that gate or gate post" in order to install the gate. We did and the fence settings were good. He was paid a $500 deposit on 4 Feb and the rest he came and got in 30 Mar ($1500, total bill was $1900). On 27 Apr, less than a month after installing the fence and gate, I asked him, via text, to come out and look at and adjust the gate, as it was leaning and not straight. He stated he would come by after lunch. On 9 May, the gate looked the exact same so I contacted him via text to see if he came by, to which he replied that he had. On 25 May he reached out and asked if the gate was working. The gate working was never the issue. It was the fact that we paid $1900 and expected the gate to be straight; it was still leaning and I sent him a picture of the gate. He did not reply. On 10 Jun I reached out via text to see if he could come out and put a brace on the gate to straighten it out. He said he would, on 10 Jun. He never did. It also is evident, upon looking over the entire fence before filing this complaint, that he he put a hole in the bottom of one of braces and used a scrap brace instead of a new one on another part of the fence. We paid a lot and therefore expect a lot.

**** installed a wooden fence in our backyard the week of March 7, 2022 for $4,200.00. Less than 90 days later half of the fence is leaning at an angle. **** said a few times he would come out to fix it and never showed up.

    Business Response

    ***** **** ******* ********************** ***** ******** **** *** **** **** ** *** **** ******************* ******** ********* ** ********

I told my customer on June 3 that a portion of her fence was leaning from storm damage.  I told her that despite it being storm damage that I would repair it for free... FREE.  I informed her that like everyone else I was short staffed and overwhelmed with other fence projects.  I informed her that I would have to squeeze her in between other jobs but that I would get to it asap.  On June 10,  I was informed that my customer was blasting me on social media sites.  She claimed I was not licensed and didn't do what I said I was going to do. She went on my web page and changed her previous 5 star rating to a 1 star rating while making the same claims that I was not licensed.  I responded back with a copy of my business license and told her it could be verified by calling the Lowndes Co. Board of Commissioners.

I had every intention to repair her fence.  She prematurely lost patience with me.  Her hasty false claims and blasting me on social media was unacceptable behavior on her part.  My attorney has recommended that I not step foot back on her property.  She will now have to contact her home owners insurance company and pay another fence company for any repairs.  The only form of resolution there is going to be is... I have blocked her phone number and am finished doing any sort of business with her

I am rejecting this response because: I had another fence contractor come out on June 15th, 2022 and he confirmed that my fence was negligently installed. This was not storm damage, there have been no storms since the fence was installed. It was very poor, substandard work quality. This contractor couldn’t find concrete on several of the fence posts, the dirt was not packed around the posts, and the posts had visibly been cut indicating there wasn’t the minimum 24 inches under ground. This fence was doomed to fail from the get go. A**** *** ******* said he would come out on two different occasions and didn’t call or show up, I absolutely changed my rating of his company online. I have every right to update my rating on social media to reflect my negative experience with this company.

    Regards,
