My mom and l applied for a cottage home and they denied us because they didn't think we where a good fit for that community. The leasing agent at the time even told us they turn away as lot of applications. Anyway we gave them a $500 deposit which was to much to begin with. They said they would return 250 of it if we where denied. No money has materialized. Application # is ********** We applied about 1 year ago

I filed an application for a lease at The Cottages at *********** in March which was denied. My application fee was paid by credit card which was not returned after the application was denied. I attempted to call the office multiple times and left voicemails with no response. When I visited the leasing office, I was informed that their policy was to issue a refund check which would be mailed within ************************************************************************************************************************** the process of moving from the address that was on the application. I was advised by the agent that it would be mailed to the provided address. The Cottages emailed a "Move Out Statement" April 8th which showed a refund of $250 would be issued. The check was not received. I was then contacted by a leasing agent from The Cottages at *********** in late July advising that the check was in their office to pick up. I picked up the check and cashed it August 5 at ************************ in *********. A check return was issued August 8, putting my account in the negative. I was not aware of this until I was at *********** on September 3 who provided a printout. I went to The Cottages September 4 and provided a leasing agent with this information and was advised that she would contact me after speaking with their accounting department. I called The Cottages at *********** on September 18th, spoke to another agent, provided information about the issue and he advised he would contact the accounting department. The leasing agent called back and advised that there was no issue on their end regarding the check. I then contacted ***********'s customer service September 25th who advised that a stop payment was issued for the check. I advised them that I had not requested a stop payment, and the Center Parc *** advised that it must have been The Cottages. I contacted The Cottages multiples times since then with no resolution/explanation for the stop payment.
