What was quoted as a good week for repairs languished into 9 weeks. Because we were told it would only be a week or two, we rented an air ***** for $525.00 per week while the motorhome was in the shop. (We are travelling so living in the motorhome.)I had only taken along enough medications for 2 weeks, so after those 2 weeks had passed, I returned to the motorhome to resupply. I am retired Navy and totally and permanently disabled by the VA ******** connected), so I take a lot of meds. When I explained this to ***, she said she would give a military discount. She did not. No work had been done. After the first MONTH, I told ******** needed to stop in and exercise the generator (gas), add distilled water to the 2 house batteries and charge them (Blue Ridge RV Repair will not let you leave your rig plugged to 110 VAC) *** replied stating that if the house batteries needed water, they were no good and should be replaced. She also stated that I did not need to run the generator because they don't routinely exercise their personal diesel genset. This demonstrates ***** lack of knowledge about how gas motorhomes work. A gasoline Onan generator must be run at least a few hours every month. I know as I did not and had to pay $700.00 for a new carburetor installation this past February.Lead-acid house batteries require monthly maintenance as well, ensuring each cell is full of water. Again, this demonstrates ***** incomprehension of even the most basic motorhome systems, subsystems and RVs in general. The ***************************** adjuster factored replacing the rear cap into the estimate. Blue Ridge RV repair DID NOT replace the rear cap as directed. INSTEAD, the rear cap is now a big glob of Bondo, for which they charged the insurance company an additional ~$4,000.00. Had Blue Ridge RV repair simply replaced the rear cap as instructed their additional claim to slather more Bondo onto ALL of the rear cap would have been unnecessary. Bondo and paint work sloppy. Customer Answer

    Complaint: 17734534

I am rejecting this response because: Blue Ridge ** took advantage of myself and my partner, who is indeed retired Navy and a 100% disabled veteran.

Blue Ridge ** said it would take a good week to repair the bodywork on our motorhome.

Blue Ridge ** instead took 9 weeks.

We paid $525.00 per week for an air BnB rental during this time. ********************* refunded us $750.00 total. Balance = $3,975.00.

Blue Ridge ** did not repair our motorhome adequately. The repairs they did complete are terrible as the attached photographs detail.

Blue Ridge ** also did not complete all of the repairs covered by ********************** again as the attached photographs document.

Progressive insurance refunded me $1040.00 to have uncompleted repairs performed elsewhere.

Meanwhile the repairs Blue Ridge ** attempted to complete are entirely unsatisfactory. They failed to install the "new" rear cap ladder correctly, leaving it unsafe and at least a dozen old s**** holes unsealed, unfinished and unpainted in the rear cap. The ladder is absolutely unsafe to use. The ** technicians replacing a roof top air conditioner will not use this ladder.

Additionally - Blue Ridge ** replied to our ****** review with lies, personal attacks on our character, etc.

They paid a company to remove our ****** review and add additional positive reviews.

Blue Ridge ** may have been good once, but now they are in over their heads with the new owner financed shop in *********, **.

Blue Ridge ** does not respond to voice mail left by the Sherrif's department.

In order to resolve this BBB complaint, Blue Ridge ** must provide the following:

    1. Pay a reputable body shop to fix their botched body work, including a new rear cap and ladder as ********************* instructed them to do in the first place, but which they choose not to do. Instead, Blue Ridge ** charged ********************* and additional ~$4,000.00 to slather more bondo onto the rear cap.

    2. Pay a reputable body shop to finish the job they failed to do but were paid to do by both ********************* and us.

    3. Reimburse us for our out-of-pocket expenses caused by their inability to perform as contracted, specifically $3,975.00 in rent as well as fuel for commuting, etc.

    4. A public apology on their website for posting personal financial information along with their lies about us, attacks on our personal character, their terrible work, customer service, and lack of professionalism. You can go to their website and see this for yourself. They posted a special page about us because we gave them a poor review on ******.

    Sincerely,

    *************************

Blue Ridge RV Center, denies this response and stands firm with the finished repairs. Blue Ridge RV Center has provided before and after photos. Regarding the Discount? We provided repairs to the Motorhome. Progressive provided payment for these repairs and per law they are to pay their deductible, which was $1000.00. My question is, what were we to do? Break the law and commit insurance fraud by providing a discount for a deductible? I asked the complainant if she was in the military, and she stated her partner was retired from the Navy. The motorhome insurance is in the complainant's name. Blue Ridge RV Center has provided all resources to the BBB.

Blue Ridge RV Center denies the request for settlement.
