I purchased a ***** Miata ignition lock that I was assured was in good working order by a Myers Auto parts representative, July 11 2023, for $61.33 (I rejected an earlier $40 shipping quote for this very small part, at which point I should have never looked back)The lock doesn't easily turn to OFF position for key removal, potentially stranding occupants, and possible tow fees. This lock is worse than the one I was replacing. Myers made excuses about 30 year old parts, instead of owning up to a lack of transparacy on part condition.Re-keying the lock would cost more than it is worth, with no guarantees.I asked for a return/refund. The clerk said "parts credit only on returns" This may work for local purchases, but not shipped parts, where $14.90 return shipping had to be paid, and then shipping for the followup credit part. I returned the worthless lock and gave Myers the tracking # via email.I did search their inventory and didn't find any parts that would fit a ***** Miata, so a parts credit offer has no value to me. This is again impractical and time consuming for long distance customers. I did call the clerk who took my order dishonest, for not giving an actual condition report of the part (requiring rekeying) He handled it to take pics, but possibly didn't check functioning, and didn't mention their no refunds policy.I returned the lock the next morning and bought a good ignition lock for $65 the following day.Myers received the returned lock July 19. and did not respond to follow up emails and phone calls were not returned.I did try a debit card chargeback, without success.A part refund would be appreciated. An honest business would not be selling defective parts by mail, then dictating unreasonable parts credit policies, as a substitute for a refund. There was no agreement on terms of this transaction, and it should be voided and my money returned. If all US companies do business like this, we are in big trouble !Thanks

We ordered a 2011 *** transmission. We installed and programmed and we were told the ****** was no good. we tried to return under there warr and they said you must replace the valve body to make sure its the ******. we special ordered a valve body as asked by ****** at MYERS auto parts. It took 3 months to get the vlave body and have it programmed. Guess what the ****** was still bad. We called ****** for 2 months he ignored all of our calls and would never return one. Today they gave us the owners cell phone, The person that did said "this is why we dont sell a;ot of parts, we cant even return a call" Thats why he gave me the owners direct contact. Now that everything the junk yard asked for was completed the owner says too bad the parts out of warranty. What a joke. Its been a bad part from day 1 and the car has the exact same miles now than when we ordered it. Very ************** I would like a refund. Thank you

We appreciate your feedback. We sent a transmission for a 2011 *** 528i in May of 2022. We advised the customer that the vehicle would need to be programmed as the prior transmission computer is "married" to the vehicle and will not operate correctly without proper programming. We also advised the customer where they can get the new computer from and recommended a mobile diagnostics company that can program it for them. The computer can be easily obtained through any major retailer such as **** and Amazon for a reasonable price and the item is not on backorder. We did not have any correspondence with the customer until approximately December 12th. We offer a 30 day warranty and after around 7 months the customer is out of warranty. We are very sorry we can not offer a refund due to being out of warranty. We tried our best to advise so you would be within the warranty period.
