    Almost 24 years ago, I visited the Jekyll Island resorts and have since held the resort in high regard. On June 6, 2024, my wife reserved a room at the Jekyll Island Clubhouse (Clubhouse Deluxe **************** The payment was processed and debited from our account on June 10, 2024. On June 11, 2024, my wife received a call from someone named *****, asking if we would agree to a room change, noting that the alternative rooms would be smaller. My wife declined and clearly stated our preference to keep the reserved room.Upon our arrival on June 22, 2024, we were dismayed to find that our reserved room had been given to another family without our knowledge. Disturbingly, we observed that our family, the only Black family present, had our room reassigned to a White family. This situation was exacerbated by the uncomfortable experience of being observed like a spectacle as I unpacked our luggage while my wife attempted to check in.We were then escorted to a completely different building (SANS SOUCI), which was both embarrassing and disappointing. We had come to Jekyll Island to celebrate our 22nd anniversary, not to be subjected to such bias. We should have been treated with the same respect and consideration as any other guests at the resort.
