The billing practices here are downright shady. The doctor has now diagnosed my scalp infection as two separate issues, one of them requiring surgery, a biopsy being sent to the lab, and stitches removal. Both diagnoses have come back negative. I have confirmed this practice is in-network, yet you cannot step foot in this office without being charged over $200. Now, $2K later and I still have no answers or a sense of direction. A complete and total waste of money, time, and effort. I feel extremely taken advantage of, and like this practice only wanted to make money off of me. They are not upfront with the visit cost and insurance coverage and do not seem interested in getting to the root of the issue.UPDATE as of September AND WHY I AM SUBMITTING THIS TO BBB: I called the office on 9/27 to gain a referral to schedule an MRI at Northside, which is what the *************** encouraged me to do as next steps in April. You cannot schedule an MRI without a referral. As of today, she will no longer give me a referral or release my medical records because I left a bad review. However, they will ***** my referral ONLY IF I TAKE DOWN MY REVIEW!!!!!! *************** has chosen to put my health on hold because I will not take down my review. Its manipulative and disgusting that anyone cares more about their reputation than their patients that need help. Not only was I misdiagnosed, but now I can no longer pursue an MRI because *************** refuses to ***** a referral. This has to be illegal. Continue to read reviews attached take note of the other folks who have been denied medical attention or visiting the office because of a bad review. All of this aside, the way **************** ("response from owner") responds to reviews and talks to patients is rude, negative, and extremely defensive like she is hiding something. PLEASE HELP ME OBTAIN MY REFERRAL AS PROMISED!!! I just want an MRI. I will not take down my review because I want to help others avoid this practice. They are bad people.

Unfortunately, this lady has gone through great efforts to harm practice she has uploaded negative review on line that is inaccurate and malicious.
Our specialty is dermatology and not neurology. The patient was referred to a neurologist in town, we referred her officially to a specialist on 03/31/23 and the referral was successful.
The patient called us back threatening us and we calmly and kindly advised that is not our area of expertise and her neurological concerns should be addressed by neurologist.
This is no grounds for complaint to BBB, we practice with higher standard of professionalism and ethics.
On our end the documentation is clear cut, we are not able to share this with you to protect her privacy but if it comes to it, it is in the electronic record.

I am not trying to drag this practice down or harm them. They are a small business in an area where I grew up. I am simply trying to retrieve the neurology referral that the doctor recommended and promised to me in March of 2023. After several visits at Johns Creek Dermatology, I wrote a negative review about the company that reflected my experience. After this review was posted, Johns Creek Dermatology retracted the referral for neurology.

The response from this practice says that they referred me to a specialist on 3/31/23 and although they may have in fact referred me then, what they neglected to say is that they retracted my referral and told me that it is against their business practices to refer a client who writes negative reviews. They retracted my referral because I wrote a review that they dont agree with. Saying that my referral is still active is a bold faced lie and as unethical as it gets.

I am simply trying to gain the referral I was promised in March. A referral that the doctor gave me because she was worried about neuropathy and wanted to rule it out. I did not threaten this business, I understand that they are people too and the girl I spoke to in billing was relaying information on behalf of the doctor, although she probably wasnt at liberty to disclose this information. That aside, I am asking for the referral that was recommended and promised to me in March 2023. You cannot withhold this referral because of my review.

If you read the remainder of this practicess reviews, you will come to a conclusion on your own that several other patients have similar experiences to mine, and the owners responses to these reviews are nothing but degrading and combative. If anyone is harming anyone here, it is the fact they *************** is withholding a referral from me and therefore placing my health on hold. Submitting this complaint is not fun for me - It is time consuming and not what I want to be doing. All I want is for *************** to follow through on her word and provide written record of the referral being sent to the recommended neurologist. The referral belongs to me and I need to continue to pursue my health and get to the bottom of this issue.

    Dear BBB,
The patient does not need to communicate through Bureau to confirm her referral was sent. Patient has called our office several times.
Patient has been very comfortable calling with threats and verbal intimidations.
The patients referral was sent through a fax and attached is the confirmation.
During her visit she was also advised of the name of the specialist.
At this stage she just has to make her own appointment with the specialist or any of her choice.
The referral was courtesy from our part and not mandatory for patient to see the specialist.
In fact, 26 pages of records were successfully faxed.  Attached is a screen shot of successful fax and letterhead.
We continue to protect patients privacy even though she is comfortable disclosing medical information, we are bound by HIPPA
    Hope this helps
