Firesign Design Build LLC was contracted 8/6/2021 with the responsible for the complete restoration of home repairs due to tropical storm Zeta which included wind, water, and tree damage. I was seeking a reputable, knowledgeable and reliable general contractor to perform specific construction services in a workmanlike manner on my behalf in a timely matter. We had several detail discussions about my project, my expectation of open communication, timely scheduling, hiring only professional and qualified contractors and subcontractors qualified to complete job. On August 7, 2021 I made a deposit of $27,520.61 to Firesign Design and signed contract to get project started. FireSign Design did not take the care that a reasonable person/company should exercise to avoid harm to a person or their property. Firesign Design failed to exercise due diligence in accordance with the contract in preventing more damages from happening to my home, under their care. Firesign Design failed their obligation to timely proceed with the project work without delay to matters that were critical to my house safety and timely completion. FireSign Design should have been aware of the tropical rain storms and increment weather that was passing through my area and schedule accordingly. I called ******** and communicated that her failure to resource the work adequately, lack of manpower, low productivity on my project combined with the failure to produce a proper program for planning, supervising and monitoring the work, prevented her from proceeding continuously, and efficiently which was causing critical time delays. On September 16, 2021 my kitchen ceiling collapsed because of water damage due to rain, and once again water intrusion resulted in property damage, *** standard of care and due diligence was breached by the general contractor and subcontractor by ignoring my request to properly dry seal and protect my home. Contractor knowingly performed unpermitted work and breach contract

You are correct that Firesign Design Build LLC was contracted in August ************************************************************************ many areas due to Tropical Storm Zeta.  You also mentioned you were seeking a reputable, knowledgeable, and reliable general contractor to perform specific services in a timely manner; and that is what you received with our company. Unfortunately, what is not mentioned are the many issues and unexpected hurdles my team and I ran into while working on your project.   Demolition problems, construction permit issues, tarps on the roof that had been there for some time, which actually caused more damage to your home, are just a few examples we faced.  We were even locked out of the house, which prevented us from finishing our work. However, we did not expect to find out from our insurance company that you were trying to commit insurance fraud; and to protect our reputable reputation we were advised to file our own complaint.

You may not have been satisfied, but I can say with certainty Firesign Design Build LLC was not the cause. The aftermath of Tropical Storm Zeta was tragic for many; and we are proud and honored to be selected to help with the restoration process.  Its unfortunate that others intentions were to take advantage of the very bad experience for their own gain.

My attempts to resolve this issue with a fair resolution have been unsuccessful because Firesign Design owner/******** will not be truthful or take accountability for the wrongful actions or mistakes they made concerning my home. I have been asking for honesty and transparency from the beginning so we could have a good working relationship, instead ******** have lied multiple times, gaslighted and manipulated me to believe words that her professional actions and behavior did not follow. ******** is still shifting blame instead of just acknowledging detrimental mistakes were made and taking full ownership/accountability of those professional decisions and actions. ******** condescending and demeaning attitude towards me have lead us to this situation in which we could no longer communicate or see eye to eye. Her accusations and verbal slander of me trying to commit insurance fraud is a great example of her irrational, unethical conduct and business behavior. I was hoping through the Better Business Bureau we could find the mediation and arbitration we needed to resolve this issue. Firesign Design has caused over $15,000 additional damages to my home outside of the $28,000 I paid her in advance in good faith for the insurance damages to my home. ******** have been unresponsive to my communication for detail billing and invoices, no response to the multiple requests for refund, no response for mediation or arbitration resolution. I have no desire to go back and forth disputing lies and accusations that I know is untruthful. I am only trying to find a peaceful resolution that will get my house repaired and to make me whole and living again. Im requesting again the detail invoices and receipts for all work completed and billable statements. Im requesting refund of balance for insurance money not used. Im asking for the replacement/material/labor cost for damage equipment and parts taking off my home by her employees that is now damaged and unusable. Im requesting the additional cost for the unpermitted work performed on my house, the cost for the new demo, labor, materials, new permits and etc.
