Please Note that this was an email to Tiger Sugar on September 23,2023 which was on the same day the incident happened:To Whom It May ********** writing to you concerning an incident that happened at the store located in ********, **. Im a regular costumer and in fact my daughter and I are frequent costumers since the day it opened. We have always enjoyed the variety of drinks offered even at its pricey cost than other competitors around the area such as Sweet Hut. We have always been happy with the quick service and sometimes a friendly smile. Today, after doing errands my daughter and I decided to go for a little treat, and since were in the area 20 minutes from home we decided to go to the ********************** store. I sent my 14 year old daughter with $15.00 cash in hand for 2 of our usual favorite drinks while I sat in the car waiting. Less than 10 minutes later, she came back with the drinks and the receipt totaled $13.51. She told me the cashier couldnt give her $1.49 change because they didnt have any change in their cash register. After hearing this I was shocked. We both walked back into the store and told your employees that what they did wasnt right and to just assume that the customer is okay not to get their change regardless at what amount. The girl handling the cash register pointed out to me the little sign taped on the register Exact Change Only, and she said for the most part they just assumed people would pay in credit cards instead of cash. I debated back to her on how about people who dont have a credit card and prefer to pay in cash? Is the store just going to say to the customer too bad were keeping your change? I went on to say what kind of business is Tiger Sugar running if they cant provide proper service for customers who prefers cash. I suggested that the management should go to the bank first and make sure that the cash register has sufficient funds for bills and coins change. She said the management is not around. I was so angry by her lack of customer service. I told her its the Principle of it and its not even the $1.49 that Im concerned about. Thats when a costumer called me a ***** in front of your employees, and had the audacity to tell me that I was making a big deal over $1.50. It infuriated me that your employees didnt do anything to diffuse the arguments between me and the costumer. I repeatedly told that young jerk and your employees that its the PRINCIPLE. They are robbing my money for their poor excuse they DID NOT HAVE CHANGE, and the reason they thought they can get away with it and expecting to keep the change because it was my unsuspecting young daughter who doesnt know any better. I would have gladly given that $1.49 to them for tips which in normal occasion I always leave $1-2 in their tip jar. Oh by the way, I demanded my $15.00 cash and paid with my credit instead. What would have been a good trip to Tiger Sugar turned to an embarrassing experience. The only right thing to do is to refund my $13.51 for my terrible experience. Looking forward to your prompt response. Your prompt reply is requested. Thank you for your time.Sincerely,********************* * 3 hours later my husband called Tiger Sugar and the shift manager answered. He asked; What do they do with all the extra money from not giving back the cash change to the customers? She answered, they split among themselves at the of the night.
